🪐 Cephei — Why you can be liquidated? 🪐 Hi, Cephei community! Some of you may saw already out new feature with liquidation, today we'd like to explain how's the whole process works and why protocol should do it: ⚠️ Is your position secure? As you might have guessed, state of your current credit position can described with one parameter — Health Factor. It shows the ratio of your whole collateral that have deposited to your account to borrowed funds. If your HF is below 1.3 or even close to 1 — it's a danger sign. Your position will likely be liquidated. 💭 "What's the liquidations and why we need it?" If you have such question — we're trying to answer it as simple as possible: Liquidation in the lending protocol means the complete withdrawal of all collateral funds directly by the contract on which those very funds was stored. The reason could be a large number of loans or low collateral, causing HF conditions to become critical. ℹ️ It is important to mention that even after liquidation, the borrowed funds still remain with the user and he can freely dispose of them. Protocol produces liquidations of such risk positions in order to restore the funds storage and maintain the reliability of the ecosystem. 👇 A little task for our Users: Go to your credit account and check "HF" parameter, if it's: 🟢 above 1.3 — all is good and secure! 🟠 between 1.1 and 1.3 — you need to reduce risk of liquidation. You can do this by simply adding more funds in collateral or close some of your credits. 🔴near 1 and your position wasn't liquidated — this is a critical bug. 🪐 Cephei — cUSD as a Synthetic Asset 🗣️ Definition Synthetic assets are financial instruments that mimic the value of traditional asset but do not have a direct physical representation of him. They are synthetic, not real assets, that's where the name comes from. 🔗 The difference between synthetic assets and regular ones Synthetic assets are needed when there is no desire or opportunity to hold currency in its traditional form. For example, we have $mTSLA, a synthetic asset that tracks the price of Tesla shares. It allows users to trade Tesla shares as tokens on the blockchain by the actual price of Tesla itself. Synthetic assets also allow owning native tokens of another blockchain (for example, $BTC coins on the TON blockchain). If all thing done correctly, the $BTC rate will be exactly the same as that presented on all other exchanges. 💵 cUSD — Cephei's stablecoin Our coin is a synthetic US dollar asset (1 cUSD = 1 USD) that supply users with credit funds in exchange for their collateral. Peg Decision: Arbitrage There is one important thing with synthetic assets - they can lose their price behavior that simulates to the traditional version, this situation is called "Depeg". Our protocol solves this problem in the most rational way - by making the peg profitable for arbitragers:

When the price of cUSD > $1, it is profitable to open a new loan and sell cUSD for another stablecoin, and this selling process will push the price of cUSD to $1. If the price of cUSD < 1$, then it is profitable to buy cUSD from the market to close the loan, this action will push the price of cUSD to 1$. Your assets are held as collateral for your loans, while generating income for you in parallel! 🟡 Open a leveraged Long position on asset Dealing on the upside via the lending protocol is a common thing for an advanced web3 user, and now we are going to share one of the simple algorithms for opening a leveraged position: First, deposit collateral. For example, if you want to open a Long on the asset $TON, you need to deposit $TON as collateral. After the deposit, you can get $cUSD as a leveraged asset. Now to increase leverage, all we need to do is exchange the $cUSD we just received for $TON and put it back as collateral.

So if you invest $100 in $TON as collateral, borrow $50 $cUSD and then sell that $50 $cUSD back for $TON, your total Long position in $TON will grow from $100 to $150.

Return some of the borrowed funds back, in case you need to reduce your leverage. 🟡 Open a leveraged Short position on asset A down trade works according to the following principle: When you sell a loan asset, you short it. For example, you borrow 100 $TON for stablecoins ($cUSD, for example) at a price of 4$ and immediately sell them on the market. Suppose that a month later the price of $TON has fallen to $3.75$. Now, to close the loan, you can simply buy $TON from the market at the lower price and get your profit in the form of $0.25 from each token, totaling $25 without commissions! ❓ What are the advantages of opening a leveraged position in lending-protocol Unlike futures on centralized platforms, your position is secured from high financing rate.
