All You Need to Know About Jumuâah (Friday)
1. The Messenger of AllÄh (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) said:
Verily, Allah has made this day (of Friday) a celebration for the Muslims. So whoever comes to Friday (prayer), then let him bathe himself, and if he has any perfume let him put some on, and use the toothstick.
[Reported by Ibn Majah 1098 and Saheeh at-Targheeb 1/298]
2. Shaykh Saalih ibn Fawzaan (hafidhahullah) was asked:
What is the ruling on sending text messages every Friday and ending with the phrase âJumah Mubarakâ?
He replied:
The early generation did not congratulate one another on Fridays (did not say Jumuâah Mubarak to each other) so we should not introduce anything that they did not do.

3. Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
The Friday prayer is from the greatest of congregations of the Muslims.

4. The Messenger of AllÄh (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) said:
Increase in salutations upon me, on the day of Friday (Jumu'ah) and its night (from Thursday after Maghrib).
[Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), Zaad al-Maâaad, 2/420]
5. The Prophet of Allah (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) reported to have said:
The best of prayers with AllÄh is the prayer of morning (Fajr) on the Day of Friday in congregation.

6. The Prophet of Allah (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) said:
Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on Fridays will be adorned with light from that Friday to the next.
[Saheeh Jamiâ as-Sagheer, 2/6470]
â7. The Prophet of Allah (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) said:
Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday will have a light for him between this Friday and the next.

8. The Messenger of AllÄh (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) said:
Send prayer upon me abundantly on the day of Jumuâah (Friday) & on the night of Jumuâah (Thursday night) for he who sends prayer upon me one time, AllÄh sends prayer upon him 10 times.
[Saheeh aj-Jamiâ, 1209]
9. The Prophet of Allah (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) said:
There is such an hour on Friday, that if any Muslim makes DuâÄ during it, his DuâÄ will be accepted.
[Saheeh al-Bukhari, 5295, Saheeh Muslim 852]
10. The Prophet of Allah (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) said:
Whoever performs Ghusl on Friday, and bathes completely, and goes early, arriving early, gets close and listens and is silent, there will be for him in every step he takes, the reward of a year of fasting and standing (in prayer).
[Jamiâ at-Tirmidhiy, 496]
11. Prophet Muឥammad (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) said:
Jummah to Jummah expiates the minor sins in between them except for the major sins.
[Silsilah as-Saheehah, 3623]
12. The Prophet of Allah (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) said:
The best of days with AllÄh is the day of Jumu'ah.
[Saheeh aj-Jamiâ, 1098, as-Silsilah as-Saheehah, 1502]
13. ImÄm Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
A time when DuâÄs will be accepted is during the last hour of âAsr on Jumuâah.
[Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), Zaad al-Maâaad, 1/104]
14. Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
The Hour of Response in it (i.e., Friday) is like the Night of Decree in Ramadaan.
[Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), Zaad al-Maâad, 1/893]
15. Sa'id bin Jubayr (radiyAllahu âanh) said:
That I hit whips on my head, it is more beloved to me, than me talking whilst the ImÄm is giving a sermon.
[Tabaqaat Ibn Saâd, 6/260]
16. Imam Shafiâee (rahimahullah) used to say,
I love to send plenty of salat (salutations) upon the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu Ê¿alayhi wa âaalihi wa sallam) all the time and I love it more so on the day of Jumuâah.
