Russia has knocked out or captured more than half of Ukraine’s power generation, spurring rolling blackouts nationwide and heightening fears about the future of energy supplies to Ukrainian cities and EU customers. Prior to Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Ukraine’s domestic energy production was around 55 gigawatts of electricity, among the largest in Europe. That power generation capacity has currently dropped below 20GW, due to bombardments or to Russian occupation taking those plants offline, according to Ukrainian officials. Since March, “Russia has destroyed [a] whooping 9.2GW of energy generation” in Ukraine. One of the officials said 1.2GW of power generation was lost in Saturday’s bombardment alone, while infrastructure critical for transporting gas from underground storage facilities in western Ukraine was badly damaged. #Source @Slavyangrad

⚡️ Will denunciation of draft dodgers for money be in Ukraine? The draft law on military police, which is currently being considered by the Rada, introduces the possibility of denouncing evaders and deserters for money. And also to break into the apartments of violators of military law.  Article 9 of the draft law contains a provision under which the military police may "cooperate with individuals, including on a contractual basis, observing the conditions of voluntariness and confidentiality of these relations, financially and morally encourage persons who assist in the prevention, detection, suppression of criminal offenses". Although this article does not specifically mention evaders, but lawyers interviewed by TSN believe that it is most likely about them. In the bill military police want to give the right in some cases to penetrate into the homes of violators of legislation on military service. And this includes evaders.  "In urgent cases related to saving the lives of people and property or direct prosecution of persons suspected of committing a crime, in cases and on the grounds provided by law, to penetrate into the housing or other possession of a person with immediate notification of the pre-trial investigation body and the prosecutor's office," the bill says.  "Given the fact that at the level of the bill provides for changes to the administrative code, taking into account the purpose of the creation of the military police, I can assume that it is the military police will conduct operational and search actions in relation to evaders who did not update their military registration data, did not become on the military registration, who were declared wanted and did not appear in the TCC," - said lawyer Kateryna Anishchenko.  Join Slavyangrad chat. The US wants to loan of $50bn to Ukraine repaid by profits from frozen Russian assets if the EU can indefinitely extend sanctions against Moscow, according to a leaked paper. US needs the EU to prolong the bloc’s sanctions on Russian state assets, which expire every six months unless renewed by unanimous consent, until the end of the war to ensure the US is not left on the hook for repayments. But any such change to the EU regime would require the approval of all leaders including Hungary. This could raise as much as $50bn. Details of the loan — including term, interest rate, are unknown. The US loans are “conditional” on the EU allocating profits from the assets for repayments, and guaranteeing that “Russian central bank assets held in the EU remain immobilised until Russia has agreed to pay damages”. (There are $280B in assets that Russia could confiscate and they could refuse to pay foreign owned debt.) #Source @Slavyangrad

WASHINGTON, June 4 (Reuters) - The Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation that would impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court over its prosecutor's decision to seek arrest warrants for Israeli officials related to the war in Gaza. The vote was 247 to 155, with 42 Democrats joining Republicans in backing the measure. There were no Republican "nay" votes, although two voted "present." The measure is not expected to become law, but reflects continuing support for Israel in Congress amid international criticism over the Middle East country's campaign in the Gaza Strip. The White House last month criticized the ICC's decision to seek the warrants. The bill is not expected to be brought up for a vote in the Senate, which is narrowly controlled by Biden's fellow Democrats. The legislation, opens new tab would impose sanctions on people involved in ICC prosecutions of Americans or citizens of U.S. allies that are not ICC members, including Israel. It also would block such ICC officials' entry to the United States, revoke any U.S. visas and restrict them from U.S. property transactions. Join Slavyangrad chat. The Russian Embassy in Canada has disclosed new info to The Canada Files about policy meant to support Ukrainians who want to avoid fighting for the Nazi Ukrainian government. This comes as the prospect of Ukraine being fully annexed becomes more likely, since gains for the Russian Army increase by the day. The government of Ukraine has, in response, ordered all of their consulates to deny services to Ukrainian service age males as a coercion tactic to repatriate them back to the country for mobilisation to the front line. They have also requested and insisted on allied NATO nations to cooperate in aiding forced repatriation of Ukrainians to the front line to fight Russia. Some NATO nations have cooperated, e.g. Poland. According to the Russian Embassy in Canada, Ukrainians wishing to avoid combat can head straight to Russia and apply for citizenship. There are also services available not just to Ukrainians, but to all foreign nationals in general to facilitate the move to Russia. #Source @Slavyangrad

Seversk direction: the offensive on Seversk.... There is information about the advance of the 106th Airborne Division fighters in the area of Seversk. The guys are really excellent. They managed on a wide front to force the river, and also to pass along its valley and to occupy positions of the enemy on heights. Thus the situation for the enemy here has become much more complicated. Full occupation of the heights south of Vyemka and the village itself will indicate a deep coverage of the enemy's positions near Spornoye, which will force the AFU to abandon these strong positions without a fight. And also we will thereby reach the southern outskirts of Seversk and create good prerequisites for moving forward along the left (western) bank of the river Bakhmutovka, with the purpose of bypassing this city and entering the rear of the group defending it. We pray and hold our fists for the guys.... Source Join Slavyangrad chat. Your opinion matters. https://t.me/+U_EDAcaO-HFjNzEx @Slavyangrad | Andrei 👋

Guardian: Thousands of homeless people removed from Paris and surrounding areas as part of pre-Olympic "social cleansing" Those displaced during the Olympics include asylum seekers, as well as families and children already in dangerous and vulnerable situations, Le Revers de la Médaille, a society representing 90 associations, said in a report published on Monday. Police are also cracking down on sex workers and drug addicts, removing them from networks where they could receive life-saving medical care and support. The Ile-de-France region has been liberated from certain people whom those in power consider undesirable. The report found that evictions and dismantling of tent camps in and around Paris have intensified since April last year, with 12,545 people displaced in the past 13 months. Paul Alouzi, health monitoring coordinator at Médecins du Monde, accused authorities of "social cleansing" of the city's most vulnerable population so that Paris would "appear in the most flattering light" at the Olympics. People are being bused to temporary regional centers set up last year as a short-term solution to the problem, he said. They sweep suffering under the rug,” he said. “If this was truly a worthy solution to the problem, people would be fighting to get on buses.” This is wrong. We are in the process of making life impossible for these people and those who support them. @Slavyangrad

Following this change, U.S.-Ukrainian dual citizens, including those residing in the United States, will no longer be able to leave the country,” -  the embassy stated. The American embassy explained that previously a Ukrainian could leave the country if he deregistered in Ukraine, while still having registration in the United States. This exception was removed as of June 1. Also, the embassy does not recommend that men not travel to Ukraine. On June 4, the grouping of troops "North" continued the liberation of the border areas of Kharkov region. In the Volchansk direction, fierce fighting continues in the Volchansk settlement. The enemy has increased the number of counterattacks and is trying to regain lost positions. Fearless assault groups are engaged in fierce fighting on the territory of the Aggregate Plant and occupied several buildings. In the east of the city, the Fearless have gained a foothold on the dominant heights and are in full control of the road from the village of Tikhoye. The total advance of Russian troops in the Volchansk direction was up to 500 meters. There is a relative calm in the Liptsovsky direction. The enemy is redeploying units of the 1004 separate security and maintenance battalion from Kiev. Over the past day the enemy losses amounted to 320 people. Also uncovered and destroyed: ▪️ T-72 tank in the vicinity of the Pogoreloe settlement; ▪️ T-64 tank; ▪️ PzH-2000 SPH; ▪️ two M113 APCs; ▪️ UAV control center in Volchansk; ▪️ two D-20 howitzers; ▪️ 120-mm mortar in Volchansk. This July, NATO countries will gather in Washington to finally decide what to do with Ukraine. Until then, the Kiev regime will try to carry out a major offensive operation to show its Western handlers the necessity of Ukraine's invitation to the Alliance. And it is highly likely that this operation will be carried out here in the Kharkov region. The enemy believes that it has taken into account all the mistakes of last year's failure and hastily assembled brigades of mobilized people caught on the streets will bring success to the AFU. The Fearless have a different opinion on this matter! The fighters are energized and ready to give the enemy a warm welcome! Victory will be ours! North Wind Join Slavyangrad chat. Zelensky will not enter into peace negotiations with Russia due to pressure from Ukrainian Nazis Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers were killed or wounded, the infrastructure was destroyed. Ukraine's chances of achieving any of its goals are diminishing, and more land is being lost every day. It will be difficult for Zelensky to even try to negotiate a cessation of hostilities. “Even if Zelensky lifts the ban on negotiations with Russia, he will be dissuaded by the far-right nationalists who convinced him to abandon his election peace platform before the war,” - the publication writes. Zelensky does not have the political strength to abandon promises to return Ukraine to the borders of 1991 and “survive the retribution of the ultra-Nazis.” He may place responsibility for the negotiations on the United States, but this may be regarded as a blow to the authority of Washington and NATO. @Slavyangrad

Russian troops continue their offensive in the Donbass: the tricolor was set in Paraskovievka in the Maryinka district The corresponding video was published by Russian sources and is partially confirmed by the Ukrainian side, which does not deny the retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the village. This tactical success of the Russian troops, firstly, made it possible to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on one of the most fortified sections of the front, where fortifications had been built since 2014, and secondly, Russian troops advanced to one of the routes along which supplies are supplied not only to the Ugledar group The Ukrainian Armed Forces, but also all units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants on the line of combat contact in this area. In any case, we should expect whining among Ukrainian nationalists: “village after village, we are losing in the Donbass,” “the butcher Syrsky is losing everything again,” and so on. @Slavyangrad
