Ukrainian F10 drones are coming to an Ohio town near you. Now, this is just a military contract. It's part of an American program attempting to get 200,000 drones into active service before the end of 2027, just next year.
But this is going to be a late bloomer because the facility set to build these drones in Holland, Ohio, hasn't begun construction yet. We only got the go-ahead last week, and they're not expecting to finish construction until December 2029. So, three and a half years from now, they'll start building the first batch of drones.
Once this facility is constructed, it's supposed to produce a wide variety of defense equipment, of which Ukrainian drones are just one small piece. So it's a step in the right direction regardless.
Hopefully, this is the first of several thousand contracts to come that will allow the United States to take advantage of the war zone in Ukraine to test an entirely new generation of weapon systems while also taking advantage of the Ukrainians' skill sets.

The Ukrainian strike on the Orenburg natural gas processing complex could impact more than just Russia. Unfortunately, Kazakhstan's energy industry is highly dependent upon that facility.

South Korea just posted something extraordinary: more than $100 billion in exports in a single month, up roughly 70% from a year ago. The reason isn't cars or ships; it's AI.
Everyone talks about GPUs, but advanced DRAM is just as critical. Korea produces roughly 90% of the world's high-end DRAM, making it one of the indispensable links in the AI supply chain.
AI isn't built by one country; it only works because dozens of countries each contribute a critical piece of the puzzle. Enjoy it while it lasts because this boom won't last forever.

Much of the territory Russia has occupied since 2014 has become increasingly difficult to supply, and without effective countermeasures, Russia's strategic position is steadily weakening.

Russia's logistical nightmare in Crimea is just beginning. With Ukrainian strikes ramping up throughout Russian-held Crimea, Russian authorities have suspended civilian fuel sales since new shipments can't reach the peninsula.

The era of abundant global energy is ending, and governments are preparing for a world where protecting domestic supply comes before protecting global trade.
Washington has two basic options. The first is blocking U.S. crude oil exports, a legal option that would flood domestic markets with oil, hammer shale producers, and create headaches for refiners built to process heavier imported crude. Cheap oil at home sounds nice until producers start shutting wells and refiners start taking losses.
Option two? Restrict or heavily tax exports of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel instead. That keeps fuel flowing to American consumers while the rest of the world competes for fewer supplies...and pays a much higher price for the privilege.

A pair of devastating earthquakes struck Venezuela. It is far too early to have meaningful damage assessments, but preliminary information looks horrific.
The world now has to consider coping without Persian gulf, or Russian, or Venezuelan oil, more or less at the same time. https://twitter.com/PeterZeihan/status/2070260259440972171/photo/1 🐦
