It's all a show, and probably preparing the stage so they can say, oh AI is too dangerous for you to use without our seeing everything you do with it, pleb, meanwhile governments and huge companies get unrestricted use and barrel over everyone and everything because of the insane advantage they'll have. I recommend getting absolutely everything you personally can out of AI use right now while it’s still very free and beneficial to us, who tf knows what kind of shit sandwich they’re preparing down the road, but all the worst people are hinting at something very, very stupid.

The race was not stopped, so other participants had to continue competing on the contaminated surface and use the same equipment. Some athletes slipped.
Later, the organizers replaced the contaminated equipment and flooring and disinfected the area. They were criticized online for failing to comply with sanitary standards.
