anyone else experienced a problem with telegram push notifications on ios? all of a sudden im not getting any without changing any settings. push notifications are on in global notifications. in app, the people and group chats i want to receive notifications from are on. i cleared my cache, logged out on my other devices, restarted my phone, all software up to date, and still no luck 😑

Do these people just find bible verses on the internet and use them to suit whatever point they‘re trying to make? Is Sunday School at Billy Bob’s Christ Church just sitting at a computer typing into Google “Bible Quotes to support my opinions this this and that?” Why would you pick a quote from Jeremiah here? As if no context matters. Not just the immediate text before where it’s clear God is explaining the heart can be deceitful and lead a man to sin (no one denies that) but also the fact that the prophets were there to call the literally call the perfidious Jews back to God. Key word back. Back to where? To our evil foundations? Makes no sense.

This notion of man’s “total depravity” is calvinist nonsense on a theological level but also on a common sense level: if humans are fundamentally evil, which is the opposite of God, and therefore not in his image, why bother offering us salvation and correcting us against our struggle with sin and concupiscence? Peter 5:10 says God will *restore* us if we resist the devil. Original sin is a fundamental flaw that requires healing; it is not a fundamental existence. There is a difference. And while I won’t go down the ontological rabbit hole, it feels like that distinction is at the core of Christianity.
