Hey streamers,
Hope you are doing great this fantastic Friday.
As it has been a bit quiet from our side, I just wanted to take this opportunity to explain what is going on behind the scenes so that you guys are in the loop as well, it will be a bit comprehensive so buckle up!
Wallet service (Current Testnet)
We are currently doing some changes and improving the service over the next 96 hours so a few of you will experience some sporadic down time during this service window.
Mainnet - Wen launch?
Due to a long remediation process with our auditor and some architectural changes, we decided that we are going to do this in multi steps so, this essentially means that we will first start with a release of testnet V3 that we anticipate should be ready for deployment within the next 10-14 days. Once we have released and collected the necessary feedback, we will update the last fixes and then push to mainnet4 which is going to come within a couple of weeks after testnet release. Q1 2025 we will also upgrade mainnet to version 2.0 or scriptV as we call it. Once we get closer, we will share more information in a comprehensive medium article about it so you can read more.
Script.TV Web Version 2.0
Due to some architectural changes in the backend for smoother onboarding of new 3rd party dApps, new features such as second screen, video on demand (VoD), shoppable experiences, new content partners, as well as to ensure full compliance when it comes to showing relevant web2 and web3 advertising - we're upgrading Script TV web version to a new and much more exciting streaming dApp. It will get a facelift but also, some new interesting socialFI features that we think that you will like and we will continuously add more to it as we go along. This upgrade is scheduled to come during Q3 and we are now in the process of migrating all users to the new system and hooking up all API's to ensure it runs smoothly before we put it in a staging environment for the QA testing part.
Mobile and Smart TV dApps
It's now finally coming together it seems and during June we will have 5 smart TV applications fully developed and ready to hand over to our TV manufacturers for QA testing before we can publish. Due to approval processes that we're not in control off and the fact that some are faster than others it will be a bit difficult for us to give estimations right now however, we do expect that by Q3 we should be live on many of the platforms. These include but are not limited to - Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV/Stick, Roku, Samsung TV, LG TV, iOS, and Android mobile.
Content
We are constantly analyzing our traffic sources and are in dialogue with our content partners as well as distribution partners to ensure that we can broadcast the relevant content to you guys. So, it's going to be a bit more focused on new genres and localized content. Next month we will start rolling out new content again that we believe many of you will very much enjoy! We are going to do some polls as well to collect feedback where everyone of you can chip in with the type of content that you would like to see on the platform.
Developer community
As we are well on our way to the mainnet, a huge part of this is to also setup our developer community where there are going to be lots of incentives. Our CTO is putting this together as we speak and once we get more information from him on the exact process, we will share this in a comprehensive article.
Partnerships
As you guys who follow our socials are aware we have a lot of partnerships signed off and a lot more are incoming, it's consuming up a lot of our time and resources to integrate them so please just bear with us. Some partnerships are even bigger than others in terms of implementation. Rest assured that this is nothing, much more is underway, and we have some huge news in store for you where we are negotiating terms with new potential partners, therefore, we cannot disclose it just yet but will do so when the time is right. So, stay tuned!
