Only Americans, at the instigation of Jews, ridicule their self-reliant, agrarian people. In other countries (Japan for one) such people are national treasures. If one tries to translate the word /hillbilly/ into French it comes back "Highlander:" in Spanish as "rustic" - again with positive connotations.
