By 19, Cayla had lost her mother to abandonment, watched her brother’s schizophrenia diagnosis unfold, and buried her father to cancer, all while shouldering her family’s needs as the eldest child.
It left her crying out to God: “If You love me, why have I lost both parents who were meant to care for me?”

We tend to read the book of Job as a "why do bad things happen to good people" story, but it's not really just about that. It's also about an accusation Satan makes against every single one of us: that we only love God for what He gives us, not for who He is.
Job spent a whole book proving that wrong.

The first recorded decline in Christianity's share of Singapore's population in four decades.
It's easy to read that as bad news. But what if it's an invitation, back to who the Church was always meant to be?

We talk about having a relationship with God. But how often is it actually a conversation? As 40.Day begins, there's no better time to find out.

Alvin had just encountered God for the first time in years, and he wasn't ready to let that go. So he missed his flight home on purpose and a stranger opened up his home for two weeks. Then in a church service, Alvin told God, “If You're real, make them play one song I know.” And God did just that.
He broke down right there. After years of running from God and chasing the wrong things... God didn't give up on him. He never does.

Alvin was just sitting at the Blue Mountains and taking in the view, when he heard God say, "I've been chasing after you this whole time."
Then his friend walked up to him and told him the exact same thing. For someone who just wanted to feel loved, that hit different. He wasn't invisible. He was seen. That’s not a coincidence. That’s God.

At 22, Alvin was hitting the clubs 3-4 times a week. Partying, drinking, gambling… anything to feel something. But he always went home empty.
One night, a voice told him to leave early. But he didn’t listen. What happened after put him on his kitchen floor at 2.30am... and broke him down. 🙏

Something a little different from us today:
Our friends at LoveSingapore are running Cold Case 613 next Saturday, 4 July, as part of Youth Fest 2026. It's a mystery investigation event where teams of up to 8 work together to solve puzzles, uncover evidence, and crack a case that was closed too soon. It's free to join, and there are prizes up for grabs.
Registration closes this Saturday, 28 June, so if you or your youth group are looking for something to do next week, scan the QR code on the flyer and get your team in.

This Father’s Day, I’m not writing as a hopeful dad.
I’m writing as one. ❤️
Here’s the six-year story behind my daughters.

Father's Day is just around the corner, and it doesn't always feel simple. 😮💨
Some of us had dads who showed up every time. Some of us had dads who clashed with us, or played favourites, or weren't around at all. Most of us land somewhere in between.
The Bible doesn't shy away from that. Jacob, David, Saul, Mordecai, Joseph: none of them were perfect fathers, but each one shows us something true about the One who is.

Jesus said that whoever drinks the water He gives will never be thirsty again.
That is not a self-help promise. It's an invitation from the one Person who actually knows what you are thirsting for.
