I was close to resign before securing any offer last year end. I went thru the hoops and finally at final stage of interview. Everything went well. Waited all the way till new year, cny, then only got informed the position is closed due to hiring freeze. Same industry, same role. Long story, before last year end, I was covering my boss, did extra work, OT, took up more responsibilities cause I saw the carrot hanging in front. Which is promotion. But.. something happened Q4 last year. My boss hired someone with higher rank than me, less qualified, and gave the person management tasks instead. I voiced out.
