President Donald Trump told the New York Post that he has already left standing instructions for the U.S. military in the event Iran succeeds in assassinating him. According to Trump, the response would be immediate and overwhelming, stating Iran would be bombed “at levels that they’ve never seen before.”

Now, in the same window, they’re announcing up to $3 billion specifically for strengthening the U.S. semiconductor supply chain (including deals in Texas) while scaling their total planned U.S. investments to over $250 billion through 2035. This includes major expansions in New York, Idaho, and Virginia fabs, targeting 40% of their DRAM production domestically and creating tens of thousands of jobs.
These aren’t just smart business moves or responses to CHIPS incentives/AI demand — they’re coordinated actions “leveraged” (or pressured) via mechanisms tied to EO 13818 to force reshoring of critical manufacturing, secure domestic supply chains, and demonstrate loyalty to America First goals.
