The building, which is used as a restaurant and mountain inn, appears to have been set on fire deliberately. It was closed at the time. Because of its height at 1,834m, the limited access road and the steep terrain, firefighters have struggled to reach it. The iconic building is said to be fully engulfed in flames. As the police rushed up the mountain they came across a motorcyclist travelling down from the summit. He has been arrested and is now in custody.
