The statement "there is money in cybersecurity" is definitely true. Cybersecurity professionals are in high demand, and salaries can be quite attractive. However, it's important to understand that building a successful career in cybersecurity isn't an instant get-rich-quick scheme. It requires dedication, continuous learning, and a willingness to put in the hard work to develop the necessary skills and experience.   Think of it like this: entering the cybersecurity field is like planting a seed. You plant the seed (your initial interest and basic knowledge) and then you have to nurture it (through learning, training, and experience) for it to grow into a strong and valuable asset (a successful cybersecurity career). This growth takes time, patience, and a commitment to delayed gratification.   While some individuals might land decent entry-level positions with basic certifications or relevant degrees, truly lucrative cybersecurity careers often require years of experience and specialized skills. This can involve earning advanced certifications, Mastering specific technical skills, and gaining hands-on experience.   The good news is that the cybersecurity field is constantly evolving, offering a plethora of opportunities for growth and consistent learning throughout your career. If you're passionate about digital trust, securing critical infrastructure, proactive problem-solving, and willing to put in the effort, a career in cybersecurity can be both purposefully rewarding and financially fulfilling in the long run.   As for embracing delayed gratification, it's important in this field. The initial learning curve can be steep, and the journey towards mastering complex skills takes time.
