I said this back when they splintered off from PA and I’ll say it again now they’re finished. The reason that Homeland formed was because Kenny Smith asked for a promotion to Party Manager and said he wanted final sign off on all appointments in PA. Mark Collett and I said no, so he threw his toys out of the pram, quit and took some of the ROs with him. They then launched Homeland two days later (obviously had been planning it for a while). The reasons they publicly gave for leaving PA and launching Homeland back then were all lies. It was never about differences over how to win, it was all about Kenny’s ego. Everything they said about Mark was false too. Mark is a great leader and I’ll always have his back. There were some good activists in Homeland, some of whom I’ve stood shoulder to shoulder with at demos this year, but the leadership are scum, and I’m disgusted that they were happy to damage nationalism and set us back due to one man’s ego. Thankfully most people saw through it and on we continue.
