😂 FUN FACT: Researcher gets $115K from Facebook for finding a bug that could hack any iPhone near you
A security researcher was paid a $115,000 bug bounty by Meta after discovering a critical vulnerability in how iOS processes HEIF image files. The attack required no user interaction, just being near a malicious image file was enough to trigger remote code execution on an iPhone. Meta patched it silently before paying out.

After the ShinyHunters FBI breach, a new detail emerged: the stolen data includes members of the Remote Operations Unit, the FBI's classified team that builds hacking tools to break into suspects' devices. Almost nothing is public about the ROU: not its agents, tools, or operations. The leaked data includes their home addresses, phone numbers, and in some cases their spouses' names and numbers.
