#CentralSyria | E. #Hama: Two armed men came on a motorcycle and assassinated an Alawite man named “Ibrahim Mashhour Nasif” inside his shop in the village of Al-Kharsan, part of the Al-Hamra sub-district (E. rural Hama), on the morning of June 27, 2026. The attackers shot him with silenced pistols inside his store. According to local sources, the incident occurred in broad daylight, right in front of the #HTS-led General Security militias.

#CentralSyria | Homs: Armed Men Targeted an Alawite-Majority Neighborhood, But Shot a Sunni Family Instead On the evening of Thursday, June 25, 2026, armed men riding in a black SUV opened direct fire on a citizen named "Abdul Aziz Al-Ayfir" while he was standing with his wife and two children on Zaydal Road, across from the Iron Corporation building in al-Arman neighborhood (an Alawite-majority neighborhood in the city of Homs) The father, Abdul Aziz Al-Ayfir, sustained critical, life-threatening injuries and is currently in the intensiv care unit. His wife sustained wounds of varying severity and was transported for medical treatment. All members of the family are #Sunni. This is direct evidence of a policy of sectarian assassinations and roadside killings being carried out by the #STG government, through gunmen who either report directly to it or operate under the protection of the #HTS-led General Security, just as occurred several days ago, when GS vehicles accompanied by armed men raided the village of Al-Jayd in the Ghab Plain and opened fire on Murshidi civilians. We wonder: what did these gunmen do once they found out the family they shot was actually Sunni? Did they go back to their sheikh and say: “Sheikh, we meant to kill Alawite infidels, but we ended up hitting Sunni citizens, what’s the ruling on that?” That sheikh would hand them a "fatwa" custom-fitted to their needs, drawing on Ibn Taymiyyah, on this scholar and that, on Al-Muhaysini, on Al-Jolani, on Lister, on Waters, on Zelin: “Revenge operations against Assadists, Shabiha, and Alawites are permissible, so long as the accusation comes from a Facebook post, and since Assad’s regime was fighting us and we were fighting it, if someone from the Sunni sect is accidentally killed in a revenge/justice operation, you are forgiven, because deeds are judged by intentions, and your intention was to kill the infidels!” Join us on Instagram | Facebook

#CentralSyria | #RuralHoms: Militants attack and terrorise Shias in their village Mraighan, a Shiite village in Eastern Homs Mukharam region, was attacked by Islamist militants today. The militants fired their weapons at homes and civilians alike aiming at spreading panic in the village, injuring an elderly man in the process. Upon receiving reports of this STG's "General Security" arrived on the scene but instead of intervening and arresting the attackers they arrested young men from the village and led them to their precinct while allowed the militants to go free.

#CentralSyria: Young man shot dead in Hama City Hisham Mohammad Qutish, was shot dead at the door of his house in the #Kazo neighborhood of #Hama city yesterday, June 25, 2026. Hisham belonged to the Sunni community, and originally from Hama city. Pro-jihadis accounts circulated his photo, claiming he was killed because he had been loyal to the former regime. These claims have not been verified, and no evidence has been presented to support them. Even if the accusations were true, they would not justify his killing.

#Syria: Once again, more disinformation being pushed out by pro-jihadis accounts on X. This time, they don’t even know who their own people are, and that’s simply because these accounts, whether Arabic or English, have zero sources on the ground. They just keep recycling whatever lies are making the rounds on social media without any fact-checking whatsoever. The man shown in the photo, who was claimed to be a former Syrian Army officer, is actually the head of General Security in Latakia, Abdul Aziz Hilal al-Ahmad. He previously operated under multiple aliases within Hayat Tahrir al-Sham when he served as a security official in the Sarmada area of Idlib, where he went by “Diaa al-Omar” and “Hakim al-Deiri.” One important detail worth pointing out: despite official media identifying him as Abdul Aziz al-Ahmad, a number of Latakia residents told me directly that he introduced himself as Sheikh “Hakim al-Deiri” in local meetings, and even HTS-led General Security militants in Latakia still call him by that name. That caught my attention, and when I looked into it, he showed up nowhere in official records, until I learned he had been running under a dual identity. It is genuinely odd to see this kind of approach, using one name for public media while going by something else entirely on the ground. He is not like Jolani, whose followers still see him as their emir and therefore prefer calling him Abu Mohammad al-Jolani. And now we are watching the downside of a dual identity play out in real time: these disinformation accounts could not even figure out who he was. Those same accounts were running a story yesterday about the trial of Syria’s former Grand Mufti, Sheikh Ahmad Hassoun, dubbing him the “Mufti of Barrel Bombs” and claiming he had issued religious rulings authorizing their use. From there, the Qatari-backed “researchers” picked it up and reposted that same lie to give it fake authenticity, despite the fact that Hassoun never issued any such fatwa or ruling. This fits into a much broader push to normalize Salafi-jihadist ideology (the ideology embraced by al-Qaeda, ISIS, and many other terrorist organizations)within Syrian society, starting with putting moderate Sunni scholars on trial, at the hands of the very Salafists who were themselves issuing fatwas calling for the killing of civilians, and promting Salafism in Syrian universities, mosques, and streets, such as the campaign of the so-called “Al-Dhahabi Al-Dhahabi.” https://syriaja.com/articles/now-sources-no-shame-the-pro-jihadists-misinformation-network-on-social-media/

This is right, there're unresolved wounds between the city's Alawite and Sunni communities. Especially because of the participation of men from the Sunni community in Latakia in slaughtering Alawite families in the massacres of the Syrian Coast in March 2025, and in the massacres of the northern countryside of Latakia in 2013, when they helped Jabhat al-Nusra and other Islamist factions wipe out 11 Alawite villages along with their inhabitants. (Alot of them were fighters in these factions) What makes it even stranger is that this community, which has been in deep conflict with the Alawites, forms a minority in the Syrian Coast. Many of them are either of Turkmen descent, brought by the Ottoman Caliphate to change the demographics of the region, or Palestinians brought by Hafez al-Assad. They have repeatedly committed massacres to their neighbors, with violence stretching from the time of the Ottoman Caliphate (when the Caliphate used them for that), to they Syrian war (with the support of Erdogan and Al-Qaeda) all the way to 2025 (with the support of al-Jolani and HTS). As for what this guy Waters wrote in the article, it is his way of convincing himself that supporting Al-Qaeda and working for Qatar, along with supporting the global Jihad ambitious, is somehow justified. A way to help him sleep at night. Join us on Instagram | Facebook

#Syria: The first session of the trial of Syria’s former Grand Mufti, Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun, has opened before the Fourth Criminal Court in Damascus The Fourth Criminal Court in Damascus has charged former Grand Mufti Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun on two counts: participation in acts aimed at "inciting civil war," and "abuse of influence" in exchange for material gain. Honestly, I'm blown away by how incredibly shortsighted the current regime are. This particular move, putting Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun on trial, is going to seriously upset moderate Sunni communities in Syria, especially in #Damascus and #Aleppo, which they don't see the position of Mufti has anything to do with the former regime. This is leaving aside whatever the #HTS crowd and Syrians in the diaspora are saying (most of these trails to please them) because they're a special case. They've been living in an environment that's deeply hostile toward anything associated with the former regime, and they're completely out of touch with mainstream Sunni society inside Syria. Putting the religious scholar Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun on trial is like when al-Jolani had the Sunni cleric Muhammad Saed Ramadan al-Bouti killed in the bombing of the Iman Mosque in 2013, and when he realized it had set Sunni Syrians' hearts on fire with anger, he backed off from claiming responsibility (they would typically claim their suicide bombings a few days after carrying them out). But there's no walking this back now. The regime is fully owning the trial of Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun, the same man whose son was killed by jihadist factions on the road between Idlib and Aleppo, and who said at the time: "I forgive those who killed my son" This man holds enormous significance among Sunnis. Despite of everything that'll be pushed on social media, I know the Sunni street is boiling with rage right now toward Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. Join us on Instagram | Facebook

#SouthernSyria | Rural #Damascus: Violence broke out Tuesday night in #Ghazlaniyeh, on the outskirts of Damascus, as local residents clashed with migrants who had relocated there from Deir ez-Zor. Witnesses reported gunfire, grenades, and property being set on fire. Several people were wounded before the situation was brought under control. Tensions like these are nothing new here, fights erupt over petty disputes, a pattern that many associate to low education levels, a general lack of awareness, and the spread of religious extremism within these communities. Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Military Buildup by Ministry of Defense Factions Along the Lebanese-Syrian Border, from Safita in Rural Tartous to Rural Damascus Military movements and troop buildups by Syrian forces continue along the border strip with Lebanon, amid ongoing reinforcements across a number of border and strategic areas, against a backdrop of military redeployment and the insertion of fighters of various nationalities since the start of this year. According to Syrian Observatory sources, the buildups have been concentrated at several points in western rural Homs, particularly in the villages of Al-Nazariyah, Hawik, and Al-Fadiliyah in the Al-Qusayr district, located near the Lebanese border with the Hermel and Akkar regions, as well as in the Talkalakh area and surrounding villages along the Lebanese border. The military movements have also extended to other areas along the border strip, including the village of Tel Wa’aw and the village of Al-Dukaykah in rural Safita in Tartus Governorate, along with reinforcements and deployments in the Zabadani Plain and Madaya in western rural #Damascus, and the Qalamoun highlands stretching between Al-Nabk, Yabrud, Qara, Flita, and Al-Jarajir, reaching all the way to the border areas opposite Lebanon’s Baalbek-Hermel region. In the same context, Observatory sources reported notable military activity in areas facing the northern Lebanese border, including the vicinity of the village of Al-Hissa in the #Akkar district, near Qleiat Airport, which borders Syrian territory in rural #Tartous. In parallel with these movements, Observatory sources confirmed that Syrian forces have been withdrawing and transferring heavy weapons and military vehicles from areas in eastern rural #Aleppo, including Manbij, Ain al-Arab (Kobani), Tishrin Dam, Qara Qozak Bridge, and Maskanah, toward areas in rural #Homs along the Lebanese border, a move that points to a significant reinforcement of military capabilities and deployments along the entire border stretch.

#Syria | #Somalia: A Syrian ship has been hijacked by Somali pirates, with 16 Syrian nationals held as hostages The ship, identified as the Sward, was en route from #Adabiya Port in Egypt to Mombasa Port in #Kenya when it was seized. The pirates forced the ship toward Somali waters near Garacad in northeastern Somalia’s Puntland region. A video circulating on social media shows the crew members appealing for help. They confirmed that they remain in captivity and that their supplies of food and water are running low. The crew called for assistance from the #STG after the company that owns the ship refused to pay the ransom demanded by the pirates. Join us on Instagram | Facebook

#WesternSyria | Latakia: Disappearance of an Alawite girl in #Latakia raises fears of kidnapping Contact lost with 17-year-old "Shahd Mohsen Hamisha" from the #Alawite community, since Friday evening, June 19, 2026. According to her family, she left her home in the Al-Datour neighborhood to go to a nearby store and has not been heard from since. Her father filed a missing person report with the security forces. He later received calls from a man with an unfamiliar accent to the city who identified himself as the kidnapper and demanded a ransom. In a follow-up call, the same man said he no longer wanted the money but intended to marry the girl. Join us on Instagram | Facebook

#Syria: An Egyptian Salafi Terrorist in Syria Apparently Holds More Power Than Damascus University We had felt cautiously hopeful when Damascus University released a statement banning any events or activities on campus without prior approval and emphasizing the need to protect the academic environment. That announcement came just one day after Al-Dhahabi’s campaign there. Then the jihadist known as “Al-Dhahabi Al-Dhahabi” posted several messages claiming he had already secured the necessary approvals and was preparing more Salafi "dawa" campaigns, including efforts to promote the niqab in Syrian universities. At this point it’s difficult to know who is being dishonest, the university, or whether this man’s authority, granted by the Syrian jihadist regime, truly carries more weight than the universities themselves. It seems the interim president can change the color of his tie and suit as often as he likes, but he is not changing his jihadist Salafi core. He appears intent on reshaping the entire Syrian Sunni community around the same extremist ideology. Join us on Instagram | Facebook

#CentralSyria | #Hama: An Alawite student shot on university campus. Yesterday, Laith Ayman Othman a student at veterinary medicine in Hama University, was shot by gunmen inside university grounds, he was wounded in the attack and was rushed to a hospital where he remains in critical condition. According to reports the attack occurred on a sectarian basis as Laith is an Alawite who hails from Qardaha region in the coast. The attack comes at a time when social media influencers machinery has been focused on sectarian incitement targeting Alawites and Druze in particular, without any real action from authorities to stem the campaign or the attacks. Furthermore, one major issue that this attack raises is how the gunmen managed to get through security on the entrances of the University and then flee unhindered, especially when Syrian universities are rife with sectarian tension and violence. The involvement of local authorities remains plausible as it has been unwilling to apprehend or clash with the attackers in any of the hundreds of deadly sectarian attacks across Syria for the past year and a half. Hama University issued a statement on its Facebook page clarifying that student Laith Othman was shot near the university dormitory and not on campus. The university added that it has been monitoring his medical condition since the time of the incident. Join us on Instagram | Facebook

HTS and Its PR Machine: The "Tie Syndrome" and the Art of Manufactured Legitimacy From day one of taking power, HTS has had a PR operation running in the background, monitoring every criticism thrown at the new administration, whether it comes from inside Syria or outside, and spinning its way out of each one: press releases, walk-backs, clarifications, flat-out denials. But there is one thing they have never touched. Al-Sharaa, the interim president, has been spotted wearing watches worth tens of thousands of dollars apiece, even that syrians are struggling through one of the worst economic situations in the country's modern history, people criticized him for it, and he did not care. He kept showing up in different watches, pricier each time. Now the same thing is playing out with Al-Muhaysini. None of this is random. It fits a very deliberate pattern, I like to call it the "Tie Syndrome". The point is to send a signal to the international community and public opinion: these jihadists have moved on. They care about money now. (Anyone who has spent his life in Sunni communities will assure you that the probability of a hardline Salafist jihadist changing his ideology is virtually nil, but wonders are happening according to Qatari-backed hypocrites ) The jihadist ideology they spent their entire lives inside is supposedly in the rearview mirror. There is also a survival element to it. Nobody wants to end up like Sami Al-Aridi, who was reportedly taken out recently in a drone strike by CENTCOM in #Idlib. And it gives Qatari-backed "researchers" exactly the talking point they need, that the former Al-Qaeda leader and terrorist has left jihad behind. But let's be clear about what this actually is. This is not religious hypocrisy. It is not some genuine ideological evolution from jihad to chasing a comfortable life. This is a con aimed squarely at the international community. And they are not even pulling it off on their own. Someone is building this image for them and selling it to the world on their behalf. (The photo was taken in his last visit to the UK, with the most expensive watch he "owns" )

The Idlib Pit: Silence on a Crime and the Double Standards of #STG Supporters An Idlib-based activist named "Mohammad Jabbas"+5
The Idlib Pit: Silence on a Crime and the Double Standards of #STG Supporters An Idlib-based activist named "Mohammad Jabbas" has revealed something that deserves far more attention than it has received. A stone quarry in #Idlib governorate, on the road to Maarrat Masrin, was used as an execution site. Residents of the Shia towns of Kafriya and Al-Fua, along with anyone labeled a "shabiha", were thrown into it and killed. This was happening as early as 2012, a full year before the #Tadamon_massacre ever entered the public conversation. But what sets this apart is not only the crime. It is how it was talked about. The activists Ansar Shahhoud, Ugor Ungor(Turkish), Hazem Al-Abdullah, Domar Al-Suleiman, and Mohannad Abu Al-Hassan exposed the Tadamon massacre at considerable personal cost. Mohammad Jabbas, by contrast, spoke about the Idlib pit with pride, calling it "transitional justice at the hands of Idlib's heroes". That framing is not incidental. It reflects the same mindset behind today's casual boasting about sectarian killings, the same culture that produces phrases like "that pig was killed with a banana peel" without a hint of discomfort. The responses to his posts confirmed everything. Dozens of commenters backed up the account, naming a man called "Abu Ahmad Al-Ahm" as the one who ran the executions and praying for his soul. Others said they were there and witnessed who "Shabiha" were thrown, flew and spoke about it as they were recounting something honorable, and fair. There is no version of transitional justice that can be credibly built by those who are themselves implicated in the killing. What is being called justice today is revenge, carried out by people whose own record over the past 14 years is one of horrific violence and terror. In that respect, they are not so different from the regime they claim to have opposed. Which brings us to the question no one in these circles seems willing to answer. Where are the people within the "Revolution" camp willing to do what Ansar Shahhoud, Domar Al-Suleiman, and the others did (people who, it is worth noting, all come from minority communities) when it came to exposing Amjad Al-Yousef? Why has that kind of honesty been so entirely absent here? Link to the original post which has not yet been deleted as of the time of writing this post:

#Damascus: Saudi Cleric and Former Sharia Commander in Jabhat al-Nusra and HTS Announces Himself as a Major Partner and Investor in a Damascus-Based Construction and Building Materials Company Saudi jihadist Abdullah al-Muhaysini, one of the most prominent Sharia commanders in armed factions affiliated with Al-Qaeda / Jabhat al-Nusra / HTS, has announced himself, in a post on X, as a major partner and investor in a company called “Ammar,” operating out of the heart of Damascus. The company “Ammar,=build” affiliated with the “Syrian-Gulf Investment House,” announced a financing and investment initiative worth $50 million to fund building materials through loans and flexible installment plans aimed at renovating war-damaged homes across Syria. The company, which occupied a dedicated pavilion with a separate entrance at the Damascus construction trade show "Buildex", also announced the launch of what it called the largest fully integrated construction and building materials venture in Syria. This sudden pivot, from a rhetoric of jihad and armed conflict to the storefronts of investment and real estate financing, raises serious questions about the political and economic whitewashing mechanisms playing out during Syria’s transitional period, and how a figure carrying this level of ideological baggage has managed to secure an official foothold in reconstruction projects in the new Syria. Abdullah al-Muhaysini is the same individual who was involved in recruiting suicide bombers who carried out attacks using car bombs and truck bombs. Join us on Instagram | Facebook
