📚 Meditations, Marcus Aurelius #review Eloquent, trenchantly sarcastic, and sharply put together! The only wish I have now is I wish I read it prior to my 20s, it would've set the foundation for everything (not that I agree with each sentence of it, yet most of its parts hold the truth) “You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” Plainly speaking: Things happen, because of causation and if you aren't involved in it, don't bother ruminating over it. Stoicism at its core. “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” “If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it.” People don't lie, they tell you what they want you to hear from their own perspective (to shield and protect themselves, because it worked in the past). “When you arise in the morning think of what a privilege it is to be alive, to think, to enjoy, to love ...” Absolute must-read! Not for everyone, for those who fear God and want to build up their routine from ground-up! 5 out of 5, and also do not be surprised, I cleaned 4k+ inactive users from blog, I felt it to be right and I did it. @acceptthyself

Alien 1: The entire Earth is three hundred and fifteen trillion dollars in debt. Alien 2: Whoa. Alien 1: Yeah. Alien 2: What? Who do they owe money to? Bro, who are they getting money from? Alien 1: It blows my mind that first off, you have everything on the planet here to live for free— Alien 2: You literally have everything you need. Alien 1: —and then you invent a system— Alien 2: Uh-huh. Alien 1: —that creates a deterioration of your own resources. Alien 2: You created a store of value that’s literally storing less and less value every day. Alien 1: Every day. And increasing your technology and yet somehow you still owe money to someone and it’s three hundred and fifteen trillion dollars. There’s not enough paper to print that much cash. [Both aliens begin laughing hysterically] Alien 2: What are they doing? @acceptthyself

You can now earn a PhD in China by creating a product instead of writing a 100-page dissertation! China has grown tired of PhD students writing research papers that no one reads and is now demanding that they build real products instead. This radical shift in the philosophy of higher education in China represents a formal transition from "textual academia" to "utilitarian academia," where the traditional doctoral dissertation is replaced by the creation of a tangible product. The brilliance of this idea lies in its direct approach to the scourge of "dead research" that consumes years of researchers' efforts only to remain locked away in drawers, thus transforming the university from an intellectual silo into a productive engine that feeds the market and fosters innovation immediately. This is what we need in every country, bold move! @acceptthyself

Good communication isn't just talking. It's describing the most shameful, complex parts of who we are calmly, kindly, and in time. It means giving someone a tour of your emotional disaster zones, without terrifying them or pushing them away. But most of us can't do this. Because there's so much inside we haven't digested, let alone dared to share. We still communicate. But in toxic, indirect forms. Silence. Outbursts. Withdrawal. Sarcasm. All substitutes for what we cannot bear to say. We don't just want to be understood. We want to be loved. And when we fear the truth will make us unlovable, we bury it. We rarely had role models. We didn't grow up hearing difficult truths spoken with grace. We saw people act out, lash out, shut down. We learned that to be good meant being simple, cheerful, and nice. Not complex, moody, confused, or sexual. So we started hiding. We assume others won't cope with our truths. But we all need to learn, not only how to speak, but how to be the kind of person to whom truth can be spoken to. - ©theshooloflife @acceptthyself

Synthwave just delivers as always, this one for instance (each replay) equals one therapy session for me. There's something inexplicable in it when you listen at the right moment with the right frequencies with quality earphones. @acceptthyself

Level 2: Taking Ownership Two sentences. One word different. "You made me angry." "I feel angry." That single word shift changes everything. In the first sentence, you hand them a remote control. They pressed a button. You responded. Cause and effect. Their fault. In the second sentence, you take the remote back. This is happening inside you. Your anger. Your experience. Your responsibility. Watch what happens next: Say "You made me angry." Their nervous system reads: THREAT. Amygdala fires. Defenses up. They either build a wall or throw a punch back. Conversation over before it started. Now say "I feel angry." No accusation. No blame. Just a fact about your internal state. Their brain doesn't activate threat response. Instead, curiosity: "Why?" They lean in instead of pulling away. This is the difference between: Two animals, both escalating. Two humans, actually talking. One word. Completely different nervous systems engaged. You stop being a victim of their actions. They stop being the villain of your story. And suddenly, connection becomes possible. This is Level 2: Where you stop giving others the keys to your emotions. 300 heart reactions and I will reveal Level 3: the root of every negative feeling you've ever had.

Level 1: The Exploding Bottle You've had enough. "You make me SO MAD!" "You ALWAYS do this!" "You're so annoying!" No filter. No pause. Pure release. This is better than Level 0. Your body agrees. People who express anger don't store it in their arteries. Their cortisol drops faster. Their blood pressure normalizes. They sleep better. Studies show: chronic suppressors have 47% higher rates of cardiovascular disease. People who express? They live longer. So problem solved, right? Not quite. You scream "You're annoying me!" And 30 seconds later? You're still annoyed. You yell "You hurt my feelings!" The hurt is still there. Just louder now. Because expression without understanding is just noise. You opened the valve. But the pressure source is still running. Plus now the other person is defensive. Or angry back. Or hurt. You turned one problem into two. The bottle is empty. But nothing is resolved. This is Level 1: Better than silence. Still far from mastery. 200 heart reactions and I'll show you Level 2: where the real shift begins. @acceptthyself
