وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ

Calendar for the Month of Allāh: Muharram 1446✨ Sunday, 7th July till Maghrib is the 1st of Muharram 1446. ✅ ❝ The Muslim must accustom himself in accepting the truth from who ever it is brought. It is not necessary that everything an innovator says is false, and it is not necessary that if you are following the Haqq and the Sunnah that everything you say is haqq (the truth). Verily some of what you say may be false, hence you should be careful with your inner self (nafs), and should weigh people on the scales of justice, and beware of hawā (whims and desires of the soul), for hawā accompanies with its companion just as a wound accompanies its companion. As Abu Tammām said: “The harm to the religion by worshipping the hawā is worse than the harm caused by worshipping to idols.”⁽¹⁾ Hence some of the salaf said: “The reason why desires are called al-hawā is because they cause the one who follows them to “yahwī” – fall – into the hellfire”⁽²⁾ ❞ — Shaykh Sulaymān bin Nāṣir Al-ʿAlwān (text) ~ Galandān ------------------------- [1] These are lines of poetry, by the poet Abū Tammām (231 h), which reads: وعِبَادَة ُ الأهوَاءِ في تَطْويحِها ** بالدين فوْقَ عِبَادَة ِ الأصنَامِ [2] This was quoted from Al-Shaʿbī (104 h.) «قال الشعبي : إنما سمي الهوى لأنه يهوي بصاحبه في النار . ـ»

"When you have pious father, a knowledgeable father, he's going to carry his legacy on to the son. You're going to see it and learn it by watching. You're going to inherit it in your blood like your father had it — usually — with exceptions." — A statement Shaykh Ahmad Jibrīl (حفظه الله تعالى) made about Imām Al-Bukhāri (رحمه الله) decades ago, that is very much a description of his own life as well. نحسبه كذلك والله حسيبه May Allāh bless our two Shaykhs endlessly.
