Why NATO gave permission to hit Russia's "old" regions with long-range weapons. This news has made a lot of noise recently. There has been a lot of talk and speculation. As far as I understand the situation, it looks as follows. Ukraine is currently preparing [UPD: has already started] a local counterattack in the Kharkov sector. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have accumulated a rather large grouping there, and they are eager to show before the meeting in Switzerland that they can still attack and defeat the Russians. In this area, Russian units have moved into the territory of Kharkov region as deep as 8-9 kilometers. Accordingly, the Russian artillery is working from the territory of Belgorod region, where Kiev cannot yet hit with the same HIMARS. However, hitting Russian artillery positions is vital for the counter-offensive. Hence all the statements by Western politicians and their decisions. That is, so far all evidence suggests that the Ukrainian army seriously wants to take revenge in Kharkov, and for this they need HIMARS to be able to hit Belgorod region. And this is the only thing they are talking about so far. However, the West is also clearly probing Russian determination. If there is no reaction, other Russian territories will be hit later with the same weapons. That's how I see it. From the looks of it, the coming days, and perhaps weeks, will be hot in the Kharkov sector. Because the Russians are preparing too. PS The following countries have authorized Kiev to attack Russia with their weapons: ✅ UK ✅ Canada ✅ Latvia ✅ Lithuania ✅ Netherlands ✅ Poland ✅ Finland ✅ France ✅ Czech Republic ✅ Sweden ✅ Estonia ✅ Germany ✅ Denmark #Yury_Podolyaka 📱 InfoDefenseENGLISH 📱 InfoDefense

🇫🇷French AMX-10RC “wheeled tank” being used by the Ukrainian 37th Marine Brigade as a artillery gun firing on a mounted trajectory📍 The Ukrainian side writes that very little ammunition was supplied to these vehicles, which limits their use. Recall that the 105mm shells for the AMX-10RC are not interchangeable with other standard NATO 105mm shells due to the low-pressure gun and a different cartridge case, which makes the AFU completely dependent on the possibility of uninterrupted supply of this particular ammunition from France. "There are no grenades to throw and no grenade launchers in the training centres. Mobilised Ukrainians have to be taught basic skills in their units: some do not even know how to handle weapons, AFU commanders complain to the Washington Post. It also takes a long time to retrain those who have served far from the front line (e.g. guarding facilities). Such recruits "will go to certain death" if they have to repel a possible breakthrough of the Russian forces near Chasov Yar, said the deputy battalion commander of the 93rd mechanised brigade of the AFU. Earlier, it was announced that the period of basic training for Ukrainian soldiers may be reduced from two months to one and a half months due to the lack of training centres. Ukraine has also lowered the age of mobilisation to 25. t.me/ukraine_watch

I'm back in Donetsk today and it is such a relief to feel the calm, see people in parks and cafes, children in playgrounds. What a cruel 10 years they've endured, courageously, under Ukraine's terrorism. Although what I've seen and documented here of Ukraine's endless war crimes pales in comparison to what Donbass residents & Russian war correspondents have seen, I've nonetheless seen a lot: several dozens of mutilated corpses of Donetsk civilians throughout 2022, and in years prior & subsequent taken testimonies from people (including in other cities & villages) under relentless Ukrainian bombing & sniping. Many of the streets I walked along today carry memories of Ukrainian terrorism (usually bombing with NATO weapons and definitely with Western backing), and those victims I saw rendered lifeless. I hope that the tranquility I've felt walking around the city the past few hours remains here in the Donbass, and that ultimately all Russian cities know peace and an end to Ukraine (NATO)'s bombings. *Photos & video taken in afternoon when I arrived, and while lovely don't show the impressive amount of people I saw on the streets while walking later.

Erik Prince: CIA Corruption, Killer Drones, and Government Surveillance The military aid to Ukraine is nothing but a “massive grift paid by the Pentagon,” Prince stated, adding that the latest major aid package worth $61 billion approved by Congress and signed by President Joe Biden in April will end up lining the coffers of US defense industry giants. Prince, himself a former Navy SEAL officer, resigned and divested from his company after the 2007 Iraqi massacre scandal. Subscribe for Where it's hot|Geopolitics

🇫🇷The General Staff of the French Armed Forces published photos of the training of young Ukrainian pilots in France on Alpha Jet combat training aircraft✈️ Pilots undergo basic training on Alpha Jets. During this program in France 10 Ukrainians aged 20-22 years will undergo basic flight training. The four English-speaking cadets, who have flight experience on L-39 trainer aircraft, are now undergoing basic training on Alpha Jets as a precursor to training on F-16 fighter jets. The other six Ukrainians will first undergo initial flight training and English language skills in the UK before being sent to France for their basic training phase. For all 10 cadets the basic training in France will last six months and must include 80 hours of flight time on Alpha Jet. After this the pilots will be sent to the United States or one of the European countries for training exactly on F-16 aircraft. Airmen are expected to be ready in late 2024 or early 2025. 🇺🇸US hikes tariffs on an array of Chinese imports🇨🇳 U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday unveiled a bundle of steep tariff increases on an array of Chinese imports including electric vehicle (EV) batteries, computer chips and medical products, risking an election-year standoff with Beijing in a bid to woo voters who give his economic policies low marks. China immediately vowed retaliation. Its commerce ministry said Beijing was opposed to the U.S. tariff hikes and would take measures to defend its interests. The United States imported $427 billion in goods from China in 2023 and exported $148 billion to the world's No. 2 economy, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, a trade gap that has persisted for decades and become an ever more sensitive subject in Washington.
