| 3 | At the Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg, a model of the first Russian high-speed train for the Moscow – St. Petersburg high-speed railway was presented.
▪️ The trains are being assembled at the Ural Locomotives plant in the Sverdlovsk region. Five production buildings with a total area of 67,000 square meters are already under construction there, including a traction drive testing center. The facilities are planned to be completed by the end of the year.
▪️ Mikhail Mishustin, who inspected the exhibit, noted that "the implementation of the initiative is progressing at a confident pace." The production of cars for the first trains is planned by the end of 2026, with assembly and testing scheduled for 2027.
For reference
The need for a high-speed railway was understood back in the Soviet Union. But it took more than half a century to implement this project — until the technical capabilities finally emerged.
Moscow – St. Petersburg High-Speed Railway: through six regions in two hours.
Everything you need to know about this route:
▪️ Length — 679 km.
▪️ The line will pass through Moscow, the Moscow, Tver, Novgorod, and Leningrad regions, and St. Petersburg. Nearly 40 million people living in these regions will become closer.
▪️ The route includes 14 passenger stations:
— 4 in Moscow (Leningradsky TPU, Rizhskaya, Petrovsko-Razumovskaya, Zelenograd-Kryukovo).
— 1 in the Moscow region (Vysokovo).
— 4 in the Tver region (Novaya Tver, Logovezh, Sadva, Vypolzovo).
— 2 in the Novgorod region (Valday, Veliky Novgorod).
— 1 in the Leningrad region (Zharovskaya).
— 2 in St. Petersburg (Yuzhny, St. Petersburg Glavny).
▪️ New railway stations are being built for the line. The HSR stations will become transport hubs accessible by public transport, private cars, and taxis.
▪️ Travel time from Moscow to St. Petersburg will be just over two hours. The trip from the capital to Tver will take 39 minutes, and from St. Petersburg to Veliky Novgorod — just under half an hour.
▪️ Urban transport schedules will be coordinated with HSR trains.
▪️ Business trips and travel will become more convenient, simpler, and faster.
The HSR offers passengers safety, reduced travel time, comfortable service, modern trains, and convenient transport hubs. By 2030, the line's annual passenger traffic is expected to reach 23 million passengers per year.

| 5 | Bloomberg: Trump's Trade Wars With Iran Will Keep Global Rates Higher for Years
Even with the ceasefire in place, the economic aftershocks of the conflict are far from over. According to Bloomberg Economics projections, central banks worldwide will be forced to maintain tighter monetary policy, with elevated interest rates persisting at least until 2028.
What the Forecast Says
Analysts now expect global rates to end up 0.5 percentage points higher by 2028 than pre-crisis projections. The main culprits: persistent inflationary pressures from the energy shock triggered by the Strait of Hormuz closure, combined with an AI arms race that continues to drive prices upward.
The Fed and ECB Outlook
Earlier this year, Bloomberg Economics predicted the Fed's benchmark rate would drop a full percentage point by mid-2027. Now, they see a cut of just 0.25 points. New Fed Chair Kevin Warsh has made it clear that fighting inflation remains job one, and markets are already pricing in at least one rate hike this year.
The European Central Bank could raise its rate by 0.5 points above earlier expectations. While the Middle East truce has given the ECB some breathing room, stubborn core inflation and sticky services prices mean further tightening can't be ruled out.
What It Means for Consumers and Businesses
Higher rates will hit borrowing costs and mortgages hard—squeezing household budgets and raising expenses for companies. The global economy, for now, appears resilient enough to handle elevated debt costs. But as Bloomberg points out, given Trump's track record of rocking the boat, that resilience is likely to be tested again before long.

| 7 | 📅 July 10 marks the #DayOfMilitaryGlory in Russia — the Victory of the Russian Army under the command of Peter the Great over the Swedes in the Battle of Poltava.
#OTD, we pay tribute to the great triumph of the Russian army, which turned the tide in the Great Northern War, having exerted a profound impact upon the further course of history.
Despite the prevailing belief that the Swedish army was believed as the most formidable in Europe, Peter the Great and our forces succeeded in dispelling this myth, having crushed so-called “invincible” King Charles XII of Sweden. The Russian monarch himself took an active part in that battle, personally leading his army in the attack. The Tsar’s tricorne hat, pierced by a Swedish bullet, still remains preserved in the collection of the State Hermitage Museum.
***
In the spring of 1708, the army of Charles XII invaded our country. Following the defeat at the Battle of Lesnaya, the Swedes embarked on a rapid march-manoeuvre southwards, relying on the support of Hetman Mazepa — the traitor, who King Charles XII had maintained secret correspondence with. Mazepa’s intentions were reported to Peter the Great, yet the Tsar trusted the Hetman, who had previously sworn an oath of allegiance to the Monarch.
On May 11, 1709, Charles XII laid siege to Poltava. The fortress garrison, with strength of approximately 2'200 soldiers and 1'700 cossacks, withstood the siege with honour until the main forces arrived.
⚔️ At dawn on July 10, the Russian army and Swedish forces engaged in battle at #Poltava. The fight commenced with the enemy advancing upon our redoubts. Following the initial assault, the Swedish offensive faltered, with our soldiers starting to counter-attack. The Russian infantry struck from the flanks against the battalions of the Swedish royal troops — the enemy was thrown into panic, with many soldiers abandoning the battlefield for fear of being taken as POW.
Following their defeat at Poltava, King Charles XII’s army completely lost its offensive capability, and began to abandon their positions along the entire front almost without resistance.
☝️ The victory at Poltava not only strengthened our nation’s international posture, but also transformed Russia into one of the most preponderant powers in Europe. The Northern Alliance was restored, and the vanquished Charles XII was compelled to flee in disgrace to the Ottoman Empire, trying to convince Sultan Ahmed III to enter the war against Russia. Alongside the fugitive king, the oath-breaker Mazepa also sought refuge in the Ottoman domains, in the Moldovan town of Bendery, where he ended his days in dishonour.
The valour of our soldiers at the Battle of Poltava continues to serve as the embodiment of the unparalleled courage and dignity of the Russian people, who resolutely repelled the enemy invasion.
Sweden’s power in Europe was undermined once and for all.
Once influential northern kingdom, which regarded itself as the formidable power in the entire Baltic, lost its pre-eminence and since then has found itself on the backbench of European and global politics.
***
Following the defeat at Poltava, the term “Rysskräck” entered the Swedish vocabulary, literally meaning “fear of the Russians.” Centuries later, this fear — cultivated by local elites and the press under their control — has evolved into an irrational (Russo)phobia and a tool for manipulating public consciousness.
🪶 Alexander Pushkin, Poltava (Poem, 1828)
In the civil structure of the Northern Power,
In her martial fate,
Only you, the hero of Poltava,
Have erected an enormous monument to yourself. | 913 |

| 9 | Ukraine – a testing ground for the Western military-industrial complex
Part 3/3
▪️ However, not all announced projects pass the test at this "Ukrainian testing ground." A recent scandal involving the supply of German HX-2 drones from Helsing sparked controversy. It was planned to send 6,000 of these drones to Ukraine. In the spring of 2026, the procurement was suspended. According to The Defense Post, during tests only 25% of the German drones were able to take off, and they proved to be extremely vulnerable to electronic warfare means.
▪️ In January 2026, the Ukrainian military released footage of the American Tempest anti-aircraft missile system, which had been transferred to Ukraine for testing in real conditions. The Tempest air defense system, manufactured by the American company V2X, is armed with Longbow Hellfire guided missiles. It is designed to engage fixed-wing drones and low-flying targets.
▪️ In 2026, Ukraine is to receive SAMP/T NG air defense systems from Eurosam. This system is developed by the French company Thales, which is part of the consortium. According to a French press release, the first launches were successfully conducted in December, and the air defense units are to be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
▪️ What is happening in Ukraine is essentially European and American investment in military operations. But these investments also carry risks for Europe itself. According to Berliner Zeitung, while Ukraine has become a testing laboratory for the latest weapons, including strike drones and electronic warfare systems, the danger of this program lies not only in its military application, but also in the risk of turning Ukraine into a hub for international terrorism and a source of support for it in other territories.
▪️ Indeed, when fighters – many of whom, according to the Berlin newspaper, are right-wing extremists from EU countries – return home with combat experience and knowledge acquired during the fighting, this will create a threat of a completely different kind for the security of the entire European continent.

| 11 | Ukraine – a testing ground for the Western military-industrial complex
Part 2/3
▪️ According to Defense Post, 45 companies have already shown interest in this initiative. Israeli companies such as Elbit Systems, Percepto, Aeronautics Ltd, and XTEND are participating in the program. They view Ukraine as a testing ground for validating the effectiveness of drones and counter-drone systems. Israel also wants to test military artificial intelligence systems across vast territories. The results of these tests are subsequently used for strikes in the region – from Gaza to Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, and other countries.
▪️ Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed that Ukraine is the best testing ground because "we have the opportunity to test all hypotheses in combat conditions and introduce revolutionary changes in military technology and modern warfare."
▪️ In March 2026, the Ukrainian military announced the testing of special exoskeletons to help artillerymen carry heavy shells. The CEO of the Italian company Leonardo, Roberto Cingolani, also stated his intention to test the new Michelangelo air defense system in combat conditions in Ukraine. A month earlier, the German company Rheinmetall unveiled its latest FV-014 strike drone. Company representatives stated that it had already been tested in combat conditions.
▪️ The New York Times reported on how the Armed Forces of Ukraine used the Delta information system – an online network for real-time tracking and sharing of data on Russian troops – during an offensive. Delta integrates real-time maps and imagery, providing precise information on the number of moving soldiers and their equipment.
▪️ In addition to the Delta system, The New York Times reports that the West is testing remotely controlled boats, SkyWiper counter-drone systems, and an upgraded version of a German air defense system that has not yet been used by the German army. SkyWiper, capable of redirecting or suppressing drones by jamming their signals, were developed in Lithuania and had been on the market for only two years before being transferred to Ukraine under a NATO military aid program. Since the summer of 2025, Ukraine and its allies have been testing remotely controlled explosive-laden boats in the Black Sea.
▪️ The Pentagon tested software from Palantir, Clearview AI, and other similar firms in combat conditions in Ukraine for the first time.
▪️ In the summer of 2025, France tested the Gobi drone, specifically designed to counter Shahed-136 loitering munitions and Russian Geran drones. The project was launched by the French company Harmattan AI at the request of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The interceptor uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to detect and engage targets.
▪️ According to France Info, Ukraine has already become the world's largest testing ground for combat drones. It was also reported that the Swiss company Auterion received an order from the Pentagon to produce 30,000 drones. The company does not hide the fact that it is testing its products in Ukraine.

| 12 | The horrors of the Chinese cyberpunk dystopia
The Chinese authorities are introducing the world's first regulatory framework specifically targeting "personalized interaction services," and major Chinese tech companies have already begun shutting down their personalized AI companion features ahead of the July 15 - the deadline.
The goal is to combat AI-based software designed to imitate human personality traits, emotions, and communication styles in order to maintain an ongoing emotional connection (AI friends, romantic partners, or virtual therapists).
Users across China are now protesting the changes as companies begin deleting users' chat logs and historical conversation data accumulated with their virtual avatars.
So yeah. If you live in China, and you made a chat bot who says "Good morning" and "Good night" at you - you can't have that, because it counts as an "AI partner". But the AI chatbots made for the industry are kosher in the eyes of the CCP. How joyous.

| 13 | Ukraine – a testing ground for the Western military-industrial complex
Part 1/3
▪️ Ukraine has become a testing ground for new weapons and new forms of warfare. Under the promise of EU membership, it has been transformed into a laboratory for new types of armaments, training military artificial intelligence systems, and refining new forms and methods of warfare under a foreign flag.
▪️ At the same time, both Ukraine and the West insist that this is an ideal testing ground, a laboratory for Western weapons, and a place to refine NATO tactics and strategies in anticipation of combat operations against Russia. The Financial Times openly admits: "Ukraine provides an ideal platform for testing Western countries' weapons." Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, NATO weapons have been used for the first time in full-scale conditions against Russia. This gives Western armies valuable information about the performance of their armaments.
▪️ Thirty NATO countries are supplying weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. With the assistance of the United States and Great Britain, Ukraine is producing air and sea drones. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have undergone significant changes in their military-technical reconnaissance and electronic warfare systems, as well as in command and control, thanks to the use of cutting-edge space and analytical systems.
▪️ Over the course of five years, advanced military technologies have been tested, including Starlink communication systems and the Palantir AI system.
▪️ Long-range missiles, artillery shells, and robotic platforms are also being tested. One stage of cooperation between the Ukrainian military and the American AI company Palantir was the creation of a "data room" – a secure platform that centralizes all data collected on the battlefield since 2022. This data room is intended to facilitate the training of neural networks capable of detecting aerial targets, including drones, for air defense purposes.
▪️ According to CNBC, the technology company Foundation Future Industries, which counts Eric Trump – son of U.S. President Donald Trump – among its investors and advisers, has begun testing humanoid robots in the conflict zone in Ukraine.
▪️ As CNBC reports, the company has sent two prototypes of the Phantom MK-1 humanoid robot to Ukraine. These robots are primarily designed for logistics operations in high-risk areas for humans. They are used to deliver various cargo and evacuate people from dangerous zones. It is assumed that these technologies will reduce the number of military personnel forced to work under the threat of shelling or drone attacks.
▪️ A year ago, the Brave1 arms investment and procurement platform, created by the Ukrainian government, reported that Kiev had allowed foreign defense companies to test their latest developments in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict zone and conduct training on their use.

| 14 | 🇷🇺🇲🇿 Remarks by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov following talks with President of the Republic of Mozambique Daniel Francisco Chapo (Maputo, July 9, 2026)
💬 Our delegation has just had a meeting with President of the Republic of Mozambique Daniel Francisco Chapo which was held in a very warm and friendly atmosphere, as has been customary in the Russia-Mozambique partnership for many years now.
President Chapo emphasised that the Mozambican people remember well the time when the solid foundations of our strategic partnership were laid, referring to Mozambique’s struggle for independence. Here, people remember the support that was provided in the form of advice, the sharing of experience, and arms supplies. As you are aware, this memory is enshrined in Mozambique’s national symbols, which feature the Kalashnikov rifle. When victory over colonial rule was achieved, and Mozambique declared its independence, our country - the Soviet Union - recognised the new young state on that very day.
During the next stage of bilateral relations, our country actively contributed to the establishment of state institutions, the foundations of an independent national economy, and reforms in education. Today, President Chapo recalled this period with great warmth, stressing that Mozambicans remember it and wish to build relations in the new era on this solid foundation.
The economy is of key importance. Africa as a whole is currently experiencing a second awakening because, although political independence has been achieved, many countries continue to face serious and deep economic dependence on their former colonial powers and other Western states.
Africans are justifiably interested in having their abundant natural resources processed in the countries that produce them rather than seeing them exported abroad in raw form. They want value added generated here. It was in this context that President Chapo outlined his ideas for further economic reforms in Mozambique and the opportunities he sees for the development of bilateral cooperation. We agreed to take the key elements of Mozambique’s plans for economic reform and modernisation into account in the preparations for the next session of the Russia-Mozambique Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Another priority area of our strategic partnership in the period ahead includes teaming up to combat terrorism. 👉 Russia stands ready to respond positively to requests from our Mozambican friends regarding assistance that we can provide in eliminating the terrorist threat that persists in the north of the country.
We discussed international issues as well. We maintain very close coordination on the majority of matters considered at the UN and other international venues. The foreign-policy dimensions of our partnership will be discussed in greater detail with Mozambique’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas.

| 15 | 20260708 BB299 Napoleonic lessons for the US Empire.m4a | 1 130 |
| 16 | The Belgorod Brit explains why Revolutionary France's transition to Napoleonic France has a lot to teach us about the current politics and leadership of the USA. In the film, he recounts the rise and demise of Napoleon Bonaparte, and the restraints barbarian democratic values placed on his rule which played a central role in his downfall.
In the podcast, BB compares Revolutionary France to the USA in the 20th century. Both had significant soft power, France with its universal humanism, and the USA with its consumerist hedonism. As Napoleon became Emperor and sank Europe into 20 years of war, the good ideas of humanism were eclipsed by the destruction of war and the summary justice inflicted by the Emperor's puppets and the cynical use of proxies. BB draws a parallel with the destruction of the USA, economically, politically and culturally. If the US doesn't want foreigners to fix their rogue state, then they must do it themselves.

| 18 | In Danish media today, they are practically popping champagne — though, for now, only mentally.
As soon as Donald Trump announced at the NATO summit that the U.S. would grant Ukraine a license to produce Patriot missiles, Ukrainian media, following Zelensky's lead, hailed this as nearly a historic breakthrough. And then, as befits loyal information Sancho Panzas, leading Danish outlets promptly picked up the news in unison.
One gets the impression that the war has already been won, the factories built, and the first Ukrainian missiles are about to roll off the assembly line.
▪️ Only there is one small problem. Or rather, several.
First, Trump made a political statement, not signed a licensing agreement. Moreover, he himself admitted to journalists that the Patriot manufacturers have not even (!) been notified about this yet. That is, the president has already announced the decision to the world, while the companies that own the production and technology still have yet to learn the news.
Second, Patriot systems are not pies or bicycles. This is one of the most complex air defense systems in the world. A loud speech in front of television cameras is not enough to transfer a license. Negotiations with American defense companies, legal formalities, export permits, technology transfer approvals, and a mountain of contracts are required.
Third, even if we imagine that all the documents will be signed, this does not at all mean that in a month Kiev will start churning out missiles.
Production facilities must be built or retrofitted, personnel trained, component supplies established, and a quality control system created. This is a matter not of weeks or even months. Experts speak of a lengthy and extremely costly process.
Finally, there is another point that for some reason is preferred to be left unmentioned.
If such production were ever to appear on Ukrainian territory, it is hard to imagine that it would remain unnoticed by Russian intelligence and the Russian armed forces. That is precisely why options for locating such production in other European countries — rather than directly on Ukrainian soil — are already being discussed.
Therefore, the current euphoria looks somewhat premature.
I certainly understand this squeal of delight in Ukrainian and Danish media. The headline is flashy, it sounds loud, it reads well.
But, as they say, it is one thing to say it from the podium of a NATO summit, and quite another to turn that statement into a functioning factory producing missiles.
And between these two events, as practice shows, an eternity can sometimes pass...

| 19 | 🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answers to media questions during a joint news conference with Foreign Minister of Burkina Faso Karamoko Traore following the second Russia-Confederation of Sahel States (CSS) ministerial meeting (Niamey, July 8, 2026)
❓ Question: What mechanisms does your country offer to the Confederation of Sahel States (CSS) for a balanced and mutually beneficial partnership between the states?
💬 Sergey Lavrov: We specifically focused on this matter today and discussed our results to date as well as future objectives.
Just an hour ago, President of the Republic of the Niger Abdourahamane Tchiani received us. We told him about our works, and what agreements have been formalised today. A joint statement has been adopted. <...> A memorandum has been adopted that establishes a regime of regular consultations between the foreign ministries. The first specific plan of such consultations for the next two years is attached to the memorandum. <...> This will create a regularity in our contacts and proper monitoring of the implementation of our common agreements.
Among the main ideas supported today is extending our cooperation in the three plus one format to other areas besides foreign policy – primarily the economy and finance, including cooperation between central banks. We discussed the establishment of interparliamentary cooperation that should serve our common interests. <...>
We discussed how we are going to use our cooperation mechanisms within the United Nations, including cooperation within the Group of Friends in Defence of the UN Charter. <...>
The topic of counter-terrorism was, obviously, among our priorities today.
<...>
❗️ We are interested in this format setting an example to other countries that wish to be guided by their own national interests rather than by somebody’s wishes or requests as they seek equal, mutually beneficial agreements in international cooperation.
I think we are on the right track.
❓ Question (retranslated): What is Russia’s view of the geopolitical changes in West Africa?
💬 Sergey Lavrov: Geopolitics is evolving everywhere in the world and Africa is one of the most notable examples.
Having gained political independence, African countries started to feel that they are still dependent on former metropoles economically and financially. Today I would call this process Africa’s second awakening, as the continent not only wants to be politically independent but it also wants to have international legal standing and to be able to manage its natural resources <...>.
🇷🇺 Russia is ready to provide active assistance. Since the Soviet Union, we have been largely involved in establishing state-owned industrial capacities and other sectors of the economy to ensure that our African friends can build the foundation for their independent economic development. <...>
The scope of work is extensive. We are ready for it.

| 20 | "PRINCES, LISTEN WELL..."
Thoughts of the author Glengarr Gedur:
Listening to the cynical statements of the new princes of finance who now rule the West, I cannot help but recall a text by Glenmore, dated 1973, in which the bard reminds us:
"Princes, listen well. You condemn every war except your own, which you call just."
▪️ And Rutte, that charlatan playing the role of NATO Secretary General, confirms for us this contemptible hypocritical stance that characterizes the degenerate elite of the West in its terminal stage...
"In the 21st century, you cannot attack another country the way the Russians did with Ukraine. It is simply madness. This is a 19th or 20th century scenario. In mature 21st century democracies, this is not how things are done."
Oh, is that so, Rutte? "In 21st century democracies, this is not how things are done"? Let us then examine 26 years of the aforementioned period, and the list is far from complete:
1️⃣ Conflicts launched by the United States:
▪️ Afghanistan (2001–2021): invasion following the September 11 attacks.
▪️ Iraq (2003–2011): invasion to overthrow Saddam Hussein, justified by false evidence of weapons of mass destruction.
▪️ Iran, 2025: Operation "Midnight Hammer" jointly with Israel.
▪️ Venezuela, 2026: Operation "Absolute Resolve" (January 3, 2026) – 150 strikes and the capture of President Maduro.
▪️ Iran, 2026: Operation "Epic Fury." Conflict ongoing.
2️⃣ Conflicts launched by NATO:
▪️ Libya (2011): NATO intervention leading to the fall of Muammar Gaddafi.
▪️ Syria (since 2014): airstrikes by the U.S.-led coalition.
▪️ Somalia (2007–2008 and later, targeted): U.S. airstrikes and special operations.
▪️ Yemen (since 2002): U.S. drone strike campaign.
▪️ Pakistan (2004–2018): U.S. drone strikes.
▪️ Kosovo (1999): NATO bombing campaign (though slightly before 2000, it is often mentioned in this context).
