She has doubts in the religion, has OCD, anxious thoughts and secludes her almost 24/7. She has taken off her hijab and stopped seeking knowledge and rarely mixes with people and listens to doubts online from ex-Muslims and other people. Here are some of her questions: Why are women hit in Islam as mentioned in the Qur’ān? How do we know Islam is the truth? “I have a question to do with jahannam. I found out before Jahannam was introduced in Islam, there was a valley near Jerusalem called Gehenna where people used to perform child sacrifice to their God Molech. It was also a place where people burned trash so there were always fires. Later 200BCE-1st Century CE, The Jewish turned Gehenna into a symbolic place of punishment for the wicked after death to warn people. The idea of eternal fire or torment was developed from the valleys association with burning.
