One of the most famous historical miracles attributed to the Rosary occurred during the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571. Pope Pius V organized a massive Rosary crusade and asked all of Europe to pray for the Holy League's fleet. Miraculously, the smaller Catholic fleet won a crucial victory against the superior Ottoman navy. This decisive victory of Catholicism over Islam was attributed to the intercession of the Virgin Mary through the Rosary, leading to the institution of the Feast of Our Lady of Victory, now celebrated as the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.
| 2 | Why do saints suffer?
After all they've done, their reward seems to be that of more suffering. But why does this happen?
Is God cruel, or perhaps the suffering they experienced is part of their journey.
If Christ suffered at the hands of his bride, then is it not a privilege to also suffer at the same hands?
Holiness is hated by this simple, even by the people we call brother, sister, mother, and father.
But that is not reason to despair. It is a reason to preserve. To fight, to be a saint.

They preached for him, sacrificed for him.
They gave their blood, sweat, and tears for the kingdom of God, and yet so very often, they are isolated and punished for their holiness.
But perhaps that is what it means to be holy, to be a saint, to be Christ.
This is why saints suffer.
Let us ask for the intercession of Saint Padre Pio and Blessed Fulton Sheen to help us embrace the sting of the cross, too.

We have 72 medically verified miracles of healing that authenticate the supernatural character of the apparitions. The Immaculate Conception is universally rejected by the Orthodox Church. If these miracles truly happened, then it shows that the Orthodox Church does not have the fullness of truth and has the wrong interpretation of Scripture and history.
There are very few Orthodox who accept the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, but they must ask themselves: why did God promise that the Spirit would guide the true Church into all truth, yet choose to reveal this divine truth (the Immaculate Conception) to the Catholic Church and not to the Orthodox Church universally? | 549 |
| 8 | St. Padre Pio was a holy Italian priest who was associated with various miraculous phenomena, such as reading souls, bilocation, the fragrance associated with his presence, exorcisms, and the stigmata. What is the stigmata? The stigmata refers to wounds or marks that resemble the wounds Jesus suffered during His Passion, such as the wounds on His hands, feet, side, or head. In Catholic tradition, some saints and mystics have experienced these wounds as a participation in Christ’s suffering. Padre Pio received the visible stigmata on September 20, 1918, and toward the end of his life, the wounds gradually disappeared. By his final Mass on September 22, 1968, only the lesion on his left palm remained. After his death on September 23, his hands, feet, and chest were examined and photographed, and the wounds were reportedly no longer visible. The crazy part is that we have photographs, eyewitness testimonies, and medical evidence documenting Padre Pio’s stigmata.
♦️ How this proves Catholicism
St. Padre Pio provides evidence for Catholicism because God was working and sustaining a miracle (the stigmata) while Padre Pio was simultaneously teaching distinctly Catholic doctrines such as transubstantiation, the Rosary, the papacy, purgatory, and the sacrificial nature of the Mass. He even told an Eastern Orthodox woman named Rina Caterinovich that the Orthodox Church did not possess the fullness of truth and that she needed to become Catholic. If this does not point toward Catholicism being true, then it would seem to portray God as a deceiver, working and sustaining a miracle through a man while he was teaching distinctly Catholic doctrines in order to bring thousands of souls into a supposedly “false” Church. The Holy Spirit, whom Christ says “will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13), would not perform a deceptive miracle that leads people from a church that is supposedly closer to the truth into another church that is supposedly further away from the truth.
“But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit AND BELIEF IN THE TRUTH.” (2 Thessalonians 2:13)
♦️ “Padre Pio self-inflicted the wounds with acid.”
The whole “Padre Pio was pouring acid on himself and self-inflicting the wounds” argument doesn’t really hold up when you actually look into the medical evidence. Yes, Padre Pio did request carbolic acid, but he explained that it was for legitimate use in the community, and there’s no evidence that he was using it on himself. His wounds were examined by multiple doctors, and when the iodine and other treatments were removed and the wounds were covered for 8 days, they still didn’t heal and continued bleeding. If he was simply using chemicals to keep the wounds open, you would expect them to heal once the chemicals were removed.
On top of that, the wounds reportedly remained for decades without the normal scarring, infection, or loss of function you would expect from someone repeatedly cutting or burning the same areas. There’s also the famous fragrance associated with Padre Pio, which was reported by numerous people and wasn’t simply something you can explain by saying he was using acid.
And we even have video footage of Padre Pio celebrating his final Mass just hours before his death, where there are no obvious signs of the stigmata on his right hand. Then after his death, his hands, feet and chest were examined and reportedly showed no obvious scars or signs of previous wounds. So saying “he just poured acid on himself” doesn’t explain the actual evidence at all. You have to explain all of these things together, not just point to the fact that he once requested carbolic acid.
♦️ “This is demonic”
When people make this claim, they’re already granting that a supernatural occurrence truly happened. So the question becomes whether this is a work of God or a work of Satan. | 1 |
| 9 | As I mentioned in my previous post, the burden of proof is on them to show that demons have the power to physically heal someone by creating living cells to close up a stigmata. There is no evidence that demons have this capability. 1 Timothy 6:13 says that it is God who “gives life to all things,” which would include living cells.
Jesus also says that “Satan cannot drive out Satan” (Matthew 12:26). The devil would not lead people to worship the Trinity, confess their sins, fast and pray, and even pray for deliverance from demons. The overall fruit and evidence point toward this being a genuine miracle from God. Jesus said, “By their fruit you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:16). If we dismiss a miracle as demonic simply because it doesn’t fit our theological interpretation of Scripture, then by that standard, no miracle could ever serve as evidence for Christianity, including the Resurrection. In fact, some unbelieving Jews have historically interpreted Christ’s miracles and Resurrection through a demonic framework precisely because they conflicted with their interpretation of Scripture.
♦️ “Jesus was pierced through his wrists, not his hands!”
It’s still debated among scientists, historians, and theologians whether Jesus was pierced through His hands or wrists. The Greek word χεῖρ (cheír) primarily means “hand,” but depending on the context, it can sometimes refer to the broader area around the hand, including the wrist. So the Greek itself doesn’t necessarily settle the question of the exact location.
But either way it doesn’t really matter because the stigmata was never meant to be an exact reduplication of Christ’s actual wounds. They are representations of the wounds Christ suffered during His Passion. The point isn’t necessarily that the wounds have to be in the exact same anatomical location as Christ’s wounds, but that they visibly represent and imitate the wounds He received during His Passion. So whether the wounds are in the palms or around the wrist area doesn’t take away from what the stigmata represents.

The next morning at breakfast, she casually told her father, “I saw Mary go up into heaven.” There were no dramatic details, no angels, and no extraordinary visions. Just one simple and clear image of Mary going up into heaven.
