To monumentalize the 125th celebration of Bible translation into the Afaan Oromo language and learn from senior Bible translators; teaching, worship, and thanksgiving conference was held at Gulele Finfine Oromo congregation from June 29-30, 2024. On the conference, teachings and messages were conveyed. Speakers of the program also urged Christians of today to understand that the word of God doesn’t come to their hands easily. Thus, they were advised to strengthen their fellowship with the Word through “Picking and reading” their Bibles. In addition, it was mentioned that the word of God has not yet reached all Ethiopians in their mother tongue, and the church highly works on Bible translation ministry to bridge the needs. መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ወደ አፋን ኦሮሞ ቋንቋ የተተረጎመበት 125ኛ ዓመት ክብረ በዓልን የሚዘክር እና በትርጉም ሥራው ከተሳተፉ ቀደምት የወንጌል አርበኞችን እንማር በሚል መሪ ሀሳብ የሁለት ቀናት የትምህርት፣ የአምልኮ እና የምስጋና ኮንፍራንስ በጉለሌ ፊንፊኔ ኦሮሞ ማህበረ ምዕመናን ከሰኔ 22-23, 2016 ተካሄደ። በመርሃ ግብሩም ትምህርቶች እና መልዕክቶች የተላለፉ ሲሆን ተናጋሪዎችም በዚህ ዘመን ያሉ የወንጌል አማኞች ይህ የወንጌል ቃል በቀላሉ በእጆቻን እንዳልገባ በመረዳት ከቃሉ ጋር ያላቸውን ህብረት መጽሐፍ ቅዱሶቻቸውን በማንሳት እና በማንበቡ እንዲያጠነክሩ አሳስበዋል። በተጨማሪም የእግዚአብሔር ቃል ለሁሉም ኢትዮጵያዊያን በአፍ መፍቻ ቋንቋቸው ገና ያልደረሰ መሆኑ ተጠቅሶ ቤተክርስቲያን እያካሄደች ላለው የትርጉምና ወንጌሉን የማዳረስ አገልግሎት ምዕመናን ድጋፍ እንዲያደርጉ ጥሪዎች ቀርበዋል። * * * * * * *

መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ወደ አፋን ኦሮሞ ቋንቋ የተተረጎመበትን 125ኛ ዓመት ክብረ በዓል በልዩ ሴሚናር እና በመጽሐፍ ምረቃ ተከብሯል * * * * * * * በመርሃግብሩም ላይ “ከተስፋ በላይ” (MORE THAN HOPE) በሚል ርዕስ በእንግሊዝኛ ቋንቋ በቄስ ፖል ፔርሶን የተሰናዳ ባለ 255 ገጽ አንቶሎጂ መጽሐፍ ተመርቋል። ይህ በስድስት ሰፋፊ ምዕራፎች ተሰናድቶ የቀረበው መጽሐፍ የኦነስሞስ ነሲብን የህይወት ታሪክ፣ አገልግሎት፣ የመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ትርጉም ሥራ፣ በተለያዩ ዘመናት ከተያዩ ተቋማት ጋር ያደረጋቸው የደብዳቤ ልውውጦች፣ ወደ ኦሮሞ ህዝብ ወንጌልን ይዞ ለመድረስ ያደረጋቸው ጉዞዎች እና ስለ ወንጌል በግልና በቤተሰብ የተከፈሉ ዋጋዎችን እና ውጣ ውረዶች በጥልቀት ዳሷል። ለዚህም መጽሐፍ ግብዓት የሆኑ ጽሁፎች አብዛኞቹ በስዊድን ቋንቋ ተፅፈው የነበሩ ሲሆን በዚህ ሁኔታ ተተርጉመው እና በዓንድ ጥራዝ መጽሀፍ ተሰናድተው መቅረባቸው ለዚህ ዘመን እና ለመጪው ትውልድ የዕውቀት ሽግግር ከፍተኛ አስተዋፆ ያበረክታል ተብሏል። መጽሐፉም በተመረቀበት ወቅት የቤተ ክርስቲያኒቱ የሚስዮን እና ቲኦሎጂ ዲፓርትመንት ዳይሬክተር የሆኑት ቄስ ዶ/ር ለሊሳ ዳናኤን በዘንድሮው ዓመት በልዩ ሁኔታ እየተከበረ የሚገኘው የመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ዓመት በዓል እና 125ኛ ዓመት የትርጉም ክብረ በዓል የእግዚያብሔር ቃል ዘላለማዊነትን፣ መዓከላዊነትን እና የአገልግሎታችንና የህይወት ልምምዳችን ባለ ስልጣን መሆኑን ለማረጋገጥ ነው ብለዋል። ጨምረውም ከተስፋ በላይ (MORE THAN HOPE) በሚል ርዕስ ለህትመት የበቃው መጽሐፍ፣ መጽሕፍ ቅዱስን ተርጉመው ለህትመት ያበቁ ሰዎች ያሳለፉትን ውጣ ውረድ እና የከፈሉትን ዋጋ እንደሚያሳይ ጠቅሰው ወንጌል በቀላሉ እንዳልተሰበከ እና በቀላሉ በእጆቻን ውስጥ እንዳልገባ ማሳያ ነው ብለዋል። MORE THAN HOPE በሚል ርዕስ ለህትመት የበቃው መጽሐፍ በቀጣይ በኢትዮጵያ ቋንቋዎች ተተርጉሞ በሰፊው ለሽያጭ እንደሚቀርብ ተጠቅሷል። የእንግሊዝኛው ዕትም ግን በገቢያ ላይ የዋለ ሲሆን በአሁኑ ሰዓት በቤተ ክርስቲያኒቱ ዋና ጽሕፈት ቤት ማግኘት ይቻላል። በዕለቱም “Evangelical Faith in Ethiopia” በሚል ርዕስ ተጽፎ በውጪ በሀገር ለገቢያ ቀርቦ የነበረው መጽሐፍ በሰፊው ታትሞ ለሀገር ውስጥ አንባቢያን ለሽያጭ በቅቷል። - - - - - - 125th celebration of the translation of Bible in to the Affan Ororo Language was celebrated with seminar and Book launching * * * * * * * On the event, an anthological book edited by Rev. Paul Persson with 255 pages by the tile of “MORE THAN HOPE” was launched. The book that was presented in six wide chapters’ covered life, ministry, remarkable work in Bible translation, expeditions made to reach the Oromo people with Gospel, up and downs and extensive prices paid in spite of the Gospel individually and as a family. Most articles and resources used in this book were initially written in Swedish. With the translation and compiling of all this materials in one volume an important event in the history of Gospel was able to be transferred for today and upcoming generation. On the book launching program, Rev. Dr Lalisa Daniel, director of the Department of Mission and Theology, said this year’s unique celebration of the “Year of the Bible” and “125th celebration of Oromo bible publication” is to confirm the word of God is eternal, central and authority for our life and service. In addition, the book launched entitled “MORE THAN HOPE” show case the hardships and the price paid by those who translated the Bible and it clearly indicated that the gospel not proclaimed and reach into our hands easily. It was stated that there is a plan to translate the launched book in different Ethiopian languages in the near future. For the English version, it’s available at the central office of the church for those who want to buy a copy. On that day, the book titled "Evangelical Faith in Ethiopia” that was available only in other countries was mass reprinted and made available for local readers.
