Sir, he can go to IIT Tirupati but if his core target is Placement then NIT Trichy ( Thermal/ design) will be a another good options. Because NIT T placement is really better than IIT Tirupati

Would definitely suggest to opt for PSUs if available, else go for better discipline in Mtech to land a job. If there is a substantial year gap in education that too haunts you during placements. Chose a good branch, get a better guide and use up his best channels to get yourself established

Sir manufacturing at Guwahati is far better in terms of placement

If u r interested in design and thermal from another top iit then u should wait.I think u will get thermal iitkgp in this score.

Don't go for tirupati, better to go for best nit

Manufacturing me placement are not 100 percent even in IIT
