It is distressing to note that examinations which were previously concluded within 8 to 10 months are now taking an unprecedented 2 to 3 years to complete. This delay not only causes immense uncertainty and anxiety among aspirants but also hampers their career progression and aspirations. Furthermore, it has come to my attention that the GPSC has been functioning without a Chairman since 2022. This prolonged vacancy in such a crucial leadership position undoubtedly contributes to the administrative challenges and lack of direction currently plaguing the Commission. As stakeholders in the examination process, aspirants are entitled to transparency and timely updates regarding the status of examinations and appointments within the Commission. Regrettably, there has been a conspicuous lack of communication from GPSC officials regarding these matters. Moreover, the frequency of errors in the examination process is alarming. It is disheartening to learn that aspirants often have to resort to legal avenues, such as approaching the High Court, to rectify mistakes made during the examination process. These errors not only undermine the credibility of the examinations but also place undue burden and stress on the aspirants. Therefore, I urge the government to take immediate and decisive action to address these pressing issues. It is imperative that the Commission appoints a Chairman without further delay to provide effective leadership and oversight. Additionally, steps must be taken to streamline the examination process, enhance transparency in communication with aspirants, and implement robust mechanisms to prevent errors in future examinations. As a responsible institution entrusted with the crucial task of selecting competent candidates for public service roles, the GPSC must uphold the highest standards of fairness, efficiency, and accountability. I sincerely hope that my concerns will be addressed promptly, and necessary reforms will be implemented to restore confidence in the GPSC examination system.
