The Huguenots were Reformed Protestant Christians in France, whose origins trace back to the 16th century. In the 18th century, they were banned and sought refuge in the Cape of Good Hope.
Hugenot means Eedgenoot in Afrikaans or Oath-bound conpanion in English, meaning that it is someone who is bound together with others through a mutual oath.
The Bittereinders have the following to say about this piece of symbolism:
"Our oath was sworn to the Lord on December 16, 1838, before the Battle of Blood River, an oath that we will uphold."

💸🇿🇦 Hackers steal $16.6 million from the South African ministry
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure has experienced such losses over the past 10 years, Dean Macpherson, who’s been heading the ministry since June 30, said at a briefing on the first results of the audit.
💬 “In order to build trust with South Africans, we must be transparent about the problems we face us. We will ensure that financial controls are tightened and we hold those responsible accountable for their actions. I will continue to update you when more information becomes available,” he wrote on X.
Macpherson said the department's most recent cyberattack occurred in May. Then, according to the minister, the attackers stole 24 million rand (about $1.3 million). He added that hackers are increasingly using artificial intelligence to hack ministerial networks.
South African security forces took part in the audit. They did not say from what places and by whom the attacks on the ministry were carried out. However, four ministry officials, including some from its senior leadership, were suspended as a precaution. Investigators also seized 30 laptops from ministry employees.

Farmer wounded by AK-wielding terrorists in farm attack
60-year old Francois Oosthuizen was attacked on his farm 30km outside of Ladysmith, South Africa, on the 20th of June.
On his way home after tending to his cattle, 3 armed bantu terrorists jumped out into the road in front of his vehicle.
"Then the shots started flying. They shot through the windshield. I floored it to get past them. Just as I passed them, I noticed my hand is full of blood and there is a huge hole in my leg."
A mayday call on his two-way radio alerted neighbours who rushed him to the hospital. Spent cartridges at the scene of the attack indicates that the attackers used AK-47 and R4 rifles.
Since the attack, Oosthuizen is considering selling his farm.
