Repost from Reminders On Aqīdah & Mānhaj
Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said the last thing is that the majority of the creation, not all of them, the majority of the creation they only want to fulfil their needs through you, even if it harms your deen and your dunya.
Your own wives and your children are enemies to you that is tremendous. So what about a person's friends? What about to the end of it? He said the majority of the creation they only want to fulfil their need from you, to get something selfish of their desires, out of you. As Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) said it to even another level, when he mentioned this reality, in Majmu al Fataawa. He (rahimahullah) said, the majority of the creation wants you to be their `abd (Slave). The majority of the creation requires servitude from you, they require for you to be a slave for them. They want to treat you like a slave. He said, the majority of the creation only wants to fulfil their need from you, to get their need out of you even if that harms your deen and your dunya.
So their only ambition is to get something that they need from you, even if that entails harming you, even if it hurts you, but Allāh wants you, for you. ,Meaning, he wants your worship for your own benefit.

FROM THE MOST SIGNIFICANT REASONS FOR A PERSON’S HEART TO BE IN ANGUISH AND ANXIETY IS WHEN A WORSHIPPER OF ALLAAH THINKS BADLY OF HIS LORD
Shaykh Khalid al – Dhufayri -HafidhuAllaah- said:
From the most significant reasons for a person’s heart to be in anguish and anxiety is when a worshipper of Allaah thinks badly of his Lord.
He assumes that Allaah Ta’ala will not give him provisions or that his provisions will go to someone else. Or that Allaah will not take away his stress and affliction, and that He will not free him from his sadness.
So he remains in opposition to Allaah Ta’ala and is angry and bitter with his fate and destiny.
O worshipper of Allaah every time you assume good of your Lord, your anxiety will leave, and you will be helped in your worldly matters and you will be given success for your Hereafter.
From Jabir bin Abdullaah al-Ansaari -RadhiAllaahu anhu- who said:
‘I heard the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam saying three days before he died:
(لا يَمُوتَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ، إِلاَّ وَهُوَ يُحْسِنُ
الظَّنَّ بِاللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ)
‘Let not one of you dare die except that he has good thoughts / assumptions of Allaah Azza wa Jal.’
[Collected by Muslim]
The status of the worshipper of Allaah to Allaah is in accordance to his thought/assumption of his Lord.
From Wa’il bin al- Asqa’ -RadhiAllaahu anhu- who said:
I heard the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam saying:
(إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ : أَنَا عِندَ ظَنّ عَبْدِي بِي ، إِنْ كَانَ خَيْراً فَخَيْر ، وَإِنْ كَانَ شَرًّا فَشَرّ).
‘Indeed Allaah Ta’ala said: I am as my worshipper’s thought/ assumption is of me, if that assumption is of good, then he will have good, if that thought/assumption is of evil, then he will have evil.’
