Many Americans have lost trust in the Intelligence Community after years of surveillance controversies, censorship allegations, Russiagate, FISA abuses, and excessive government secrecy. If confirmed, Clayton will have an opportunity to weed out the deep state, bring transparency, accountability, and mass declassification of records the public has been demanding to see.
