| 4 |  Recovery, Wyrd, and the Web We Weave
In the Northern Tradition, Wyrd is often understood as the great web woven through action. Every choice, every word, and every deed becomes another thread. The Norns tend the unfolding pattern created by what has come before and what is continually being woven. In Völuspá Stanza 20 the Norns are shown shaping the unfolding pattern of fate. In Gylfaginning chapter 15 -16 they draw water from Urðarbrunnr, the Well of Urðr, and tend to Yggdrasill; reminding us that what is nurtured continues to live, while what is neglected withers.
No one stands outside that web. Every act of discipline strengthens it, while every act of excess strains it. Addiction is never a burden carried by one person alone. Its threads reach into marriages, children, friendships, kindreds, and communities. Broken promises weaken trust, anger spreads fear, and neglect breeds hardship. One person's chaos becomes the weight that many others must bear.
Recovery weaves differently. Each sober day becomes another strong thread, every kept promise repairs what was frayed, every act of honesty strengthens trust, and every moment of self-restraint steadies the family, the folk, and the generations yet to come. Recovery doesn't erase the old pattern, but it begins weaving a better one alongside it until the whole cloth grows stronger.
The Hávamál teaches that reputation outlives wealth and even life itself. "Cattle die, kinsmen die, one dies oneself the same; but reputation never dies for whoever gets himself a good one." -Hávamál 76. Our deeds endure because their effects endure. They continue in the lives we touch, in the children we raise, in the communities we strengthen, and in the examples we leave behind.
To live intoxicated, ruled by impulse and excess, is to weave carelessly. It creates knots that others must struggle to untangle. To live with discipline is to weave with intention. Right action produces harmony, self-command produces stability, and honor produces trust. The web becomes stronger because we choose to strengthen it.
Recovery is more than personal healing, it is an obligation to the web itself. Every sober decision honors those who came before us, supports those who stand beside us, and prepares a firmer foundation for those who will follow. We can't control every strand woven by others, but we are ALWAYS responsible for the one passing through our own hands.
May our deeds strengthen Wyrd rather than burden it. May our choices leave behind a legacy of honor, steadiness, and healing for all who share in the web we weave.

| 9 |  OFF INTO THE WOODS
In the next week or two, I will go off into the woods alone for high ritual and old traditions completely within nature's embrace. I constantly search for what has not been sought.
I have a unique perspective as the Folk Nation we have built breathes life and our young warriors’ heartbeats sound the drums of tomorrow’s victories.
This path of our ancestors has overtaken me and whether I invoked him or he possessed me, my relationship with Óðinn is visceral and has overtaken me in such a way it has encompassed my very being.
For me alone, and in no way do I speak for the Gods as I am just a man, I lean into this experience.......
A few rituals dug from the depths of our lore and the echoes of heroes before guide me on my quest.
I hear clearly and speak old tongues, calling on and preparing for the reality of our inevitable opportunity.
The Gods are with us watching; this I know!
As we return to tradition and our piety deems us deserving once again, those who would seek to destroy us will remember our might and why the world shakes when the armies of man hail Wotanaz!
I kneel before Óðinn. As I embrace my connection and fate, I go deep into the woods for the sole purpose of communicating with the father of my fathers and progenitor of my bloodline. Ultimately, I demand nothing, yet seek constantly, only striving so that one day possibly the generations that come next will be free. My examples are those who came before and the very laws and traditions the Gods themselves bestowed on us!

| 12 |  Over the weekend the warriors of Raven Folk United competed against brothers at Forest Fights and Frontier 5. Our men stepped up to the challenge and entered the arena for the honor and glory. There is no prize money, there is no belt, there is only the fight, and the name you make for yourself during it. Our warriors showed who they were and they all honored their names and bloodlines. We had men fighting in a cage and on the open battlefield and facing all the fear and doubt that comes with it before they showed up and showed out and brought back to the folk: glory. These warriors had this to say after their fights.
"I mean for me all of it is spiritual. I don't know how everyone views it, but the closest I feel to my ancestors is when I'm training and competing, building bonds and watching as my opponents become friends; there's just something really special there. I'm not sure if bonds like that can be found anywhere else in this modern world." - J

| 20 |  Unwavering Positivity
We currently live in a world of mundane challenges and, at times, chaos. We, unlike our Abrahamic counterparts, do not view this realm in a “world rejecting lens”, rather we view it as “world accepting”. What does this mean? We can choose to get stuck on the negativity put out there by most, if not all of modern society, who view this world as some sort of “punishmen” before they reach their heaven by bending a knee, begging for forgiveness, and declaring allegiance to a controlling foreign prophet. Or we can choose quite the opposite. We can continue to reclaim our inherent freedoms and remain positive, embracing the natural beauty of Midgard and all of her “faults”. We should reject the idea that we must have some sort of reaction to anything that is projected at us by outsiders in the Utangard. Anything that is negative or negates any sort of purpose to us furthering our goals as individuals and as a people is truly the mundane.
We should live harmoniously with one another in our homes and among our folk when we gather, whether it be in our sacred circles, get togethers, kindred activities, etc. We should gather and focus on what really matters; the survival and betterment of our folk, including growing as a tribe and as individuals in all aspects of our spirituality, our mentality, and our physicality. We should embrace this dimension we are currently living in. It has so much to teach us. There is a wealth of knowledge out there ripe for the taking! Why focus on anything else?
The only thing we truly “own” and have power over in this world is the control and actions of ourselves. You can choose to waste energy and react to things out of your control. You can choose to give someone a reaction to something that is said or posted. A reaction they hope to get, giving them some sort of narcissistic win. You can choose to become a slave of modern day demands and expectations. Or you can walk like our gods and ancestors did. Walk with nobility and focus on the only thing that matters in this world: your family, your folk and tribe, your gods, your goddesses, and your ancestors.
I’m not saying be passive or let people walk all over you either. Know your battles and when you need to react. There is nothing more powerful than someone who has the ability to produce violence but has total control on when those actions are ultimately necessary. Beware of those who wish you ill will, always, just don’t dwell on them.
Leave the negativity to the trolls and those who look in the mirror and know the truth about who they actually see. There is a lot of beauty in this world, in our folk, in our culture, in nature, the list goes on, embrace it! We are only here for a short while before we travel onto the next realm. Let our focus stay Tru to ourselves, our Gods, our Goddesses, our Ancestors, and our folk! Let us walk around with nothing but unwavering positivity! Let us continue in the forward direction and leave a better world to our descendants and our future descendants.
We are future ancestors, leave a legacy that is boasted about in our descendant’s blóts and sumbels!
