| 4 |  Often we are asked by people how they should start learning and what they should do in their lives to practice our faith. They wonder how to put their ideals into action. Below is a list of things you can start doing immediately to begin your journey.
1) Develop or mend familial ties with your immediate and distant relatives/family.
2) Study and become familiar with your familial history.
3) Study and become familiar with the lore and customs of your ancestors.
4) If you are young, find a person devoted to our traditional faith that can be a mentor; someone that you can learn from, bounce ideas off of, and can respect. This person should be of honorable character with a sincere devotion to our ways.
5) Spiritually connect to your ancestors and the gods of our folk by learning and developing rituals and practices that reestablish and reconnect you to them. This may be a daily meditation or a memorial in the simplest fashions and also as your knowledge in our ways increases by performing blot in the proper prescribed ways.
6) Build your clan. Find a good woman or man to marry that you can build a family with. Raise your children with morals and instill in them the knowledge of our way by example.
7) Find community. Seek others that are doing the same as you. If there are none, teach your friends and family. Hold study groups, attend or plan events for blóts and community gatherings. Alternatively, if there are no groups local to you and you are not sure how to build a group relocate to regions where communities are developed that you can become a part of.
8) Avoid things which morally or physically cause harm to you, your family, and the folk around you.
9) Remember it's faith, family, folk. These concentric circles are important. You must be true to yourself first before you can ever be true to your family or folk. Being true to yourself means having proper knowledge in our ways and a conviction to live by our precepts actively. If you can not be true to yourself in regard to your faith, you can never be true to your family or folk.
These are the precepts for taking right action in our faith.

| 7 |  Walking the Path Forward
There comes a point on every Heathen's journey where we have to stop looking outward and begin looking inward.
It is easy to collect books, memorize lore, learn the runes, and attend rituals. Those things are important, but knowledge alone does not make us wise. The wisdom of our ancestors was meant to be lived, not simply studied.
The Hávamál reminds us again and again that a person's worth is measured by their actions, their character, and the legacy they leave behind. It teaches self-discipline, moderation, courage, humility, generosity, and the pursuit of wisdom. Those lessons are just as relevant today as they were over a thousand years ago.
The runes are teachers. They challenge us to confront our fears, strengthen our resolve, embrace change, and walk with honor. Every rune offers an opportunity to grow if we are willing to listen.
Growth also requires letting go. Many of us carry things that no longer serve us, old wounds, unhealthy habits, destructive relationships, anger, resentment, fear, self-doubt, or addictions that slowly drain our spirit. Sometimes the greatest act of courage is choosing to release what is holding us back.
We should ask ourselves:
Does this strengthen my mind? Does this strengthen my body? Does this strengthen my soul?
If the answer is no, perhaps it is time to begin making different choices.
As Heathens, we understand that we are always weaving our Wyrd. Every decision, every habit, every word spoken, and every action taken becomes another thread in the tapestry of our lives. If we wish to build strong families, strong kindreds, and a strong Folk, we must first become strong individuals.
That strength begins with caring for the whole self. Train your body so it can carry you through the years ahead. Feed your mind with wisdom instead of endless distraction. Nourish your soul through connection with the Gods, your ancestors, nature, and your Folk.
None of us are perfect. We all stumble. What matters is that we continue to rise, continue to learn, and continue walking forward.
Every day is another opportunity to become a little wiser. A little stronger. A little kinder. A little more disciplined.
This path is about becoming someone worthy of the gifts we have been given.
Walk with honor, seek wisdom, strengthen your body, guard your mind, and nourish your soul.
Leave the world, your Folk, and your family stronger because you walked this path.
Hail the Gods. Hail our Ancestors. Hail Raven Folk. And may we never stop becoming the best version of ourselves.

Those were the reported last words of Ragnar Lothbrok, the viking king who died a horrible death in the snake pit of the king of Northumbria. He meant to threaten and warn of the coming of his mighty sons who would lead the great heathen army to ravage the lands of the christian kings who had dishonored him with a death so cruel. Vengeance, he knew, would not be served by his own hand but by the hands of his sons and those who came after him.
The greatest strength a man has is not always within his own arms but sometimes it is his lineage, his sons and daughters who carry on his legacy and who may enact his revenge long after he is gone. To the heathen man family is not a burden but a power beyond himself. We have a duty to carry on our lineage, but with that great responsibility also comes a great power. When we walk the halls of Valhalla and the fields of Folkvangr our goals and our struggles continue after us, as our sons fight in the battles we can no longer enter and they bring us glory and honor we could never have earned ourselves.
If they should take our lives then our sons will take our vengeance, if they should take our lands then our sons will take them back and more as repayment for the slight. As long as we continue our bloodlines and forge sons who know their worth we can never be truly defeated. The great boar who Lothbrok invoked stands for us as a symbol of strength, of wild ferocity, and of fertility. Our fertility is as much of a weapon as the other two and good heathens should remember that. Raise your sons so they may raise your banner, bring life that yours may not end easily, create a strong lineage and find in it immortality.

| 13 |  FATHER GUIDE ME ODINN
I stand alone on the shores of normality, high upon the cliffs of life's struggles, leaning aggressively into the winds of fate.
Hear me Father as I call your name!
We are alone here Father, with none to guide our paths....
Left only with traditions and prayers in partial package, I strive to free our Kin and the tribes of man from a world sick and an age filled of degeneracies.
Men turn on men as if honor has no place while they simultaneously cower and kneel before alien Gods and rule. Our women are victimized and our children are attacked. Treated as cattle for elite and corrupt agendas, used up, disposed of, and even sacrificed to their "secret" deities. Yet silent is the storm that's in our blood.... For these shackles of mind have enslaved our mighty folk along with most all people globally, without even the toss of one single spear.
We have forsaken our descendants for simple pleasures distracted by drink and cheer, manipulated and distracted while clambering for scraps of survival. Working too many hours to think free and encouraged to conform and obey, as is slavery in any time or place ever outweighed the value of a freedom mankind once knew.
DEFIANT WE RISE!
Hear me kinsman, I have been with you all as long as any, rode into the front of the fray beside the best of you. I have bled and sacrificed both years and tears no different than most of us. The warriors of our blood know me and I them.
So I ask for your ears........
Raven Folk has become not only real but strong, and has become very much a tribal folk Nation, uniting Kindreds and war bands along with families and some of the most wonderful women I have ever met. We are a community bound by the ancestral ties within our blood.
The modern world has discounted us and underestimated the sons and daughters of Germania, but tomorrow will not only be ours, we will reconquer and regain control of our own lives.
Singing the songs of our ancestors we will joyfully and viciously face victory or defeat as us and without apology to this age of sickness!!
We must become more disciplined! More unified! And we must dive deeper into our old traditions and rituals as they hold the keys to our future!
I ask the warbands of Midgard who know my name.
Stand with us and help us hold a new standard, men at odds I encourage to settle petty squabbles as our father warns us, no one knows when the wolf will come!
As real as the flesh on your skin is the might of our Gods!
Help this sacred Raven banner chase our enemies from our homes and help our folk stand against the serpent!!

| 17 |  Day of Remembrance for Unn the Deep-Minded
Today we celebrate Unn the Deep-Minded. Unn comes to us from the Laxdaela Saga.
Unn was a strong woman who refused to yield to the tyrannical Harald Finehair. She traveled to Scotland and helped to create a solid future for her granddaughters. Later she journeyed to Iceland and settled there. Here she became quite a successful woman and strove to build a future for her descendants. She died at her grandson's wedding after she had named him her heir. She was given a traditional burial and a funerary feast.
Unn was a strong woman who sought only to strengthen her family line. She refused to yield to anyone when it came to her offspring. Her life was spent creating a secure future for her family. For her, family came before all else, and she was willing to do whatever was needed to protect her family.
One who almost certainly became a dísir for her family line. A true matriarch, a good woman, and a role model for mothers of today.
