Regarding the Gods, the following aren't mutually exclusive.
Literal, metaphoric, archetypal, metaphysical, local yet connected to a greater divine whole in reflection.

Repost from The Chad Pastoralist: History
The Patera of the Gods
Dated to the late 4th century AD, a treasure hoard featuring an offering bowl (patera) belonging to the Visigoths depicts the most prominent Germanic Gods in a classical Graeco-Roman stylisation.
Woden (Odin) is depicted as clean-shaven, wearing a torc around His neck, holding a caduceus, like Mercury, in the shape of a palm leaf, giving it the appearance of a spearhead.
The torc features a Runic inscription in the Elder Futhark, which reads:
ᚷᚢᛏᚨᚾᛁᛟᚹᛁ ᚺᚨᛁᛚᚨᚷ
GUTANIOWI HAILAG

No "SPLC" it isn't just "Icelandic" and isn't grounded in universal "inclusion" by real practitioners now or in history.

"Europeans arguing over Indian Hindu stuff is so mind-numbing and irrelevant."
A friend of mine said something like this.
I heavily agree with this.
While I am a Vajrayana Buddhist and an Indo-European cross faith researcher, much of the ancient Vedas, early Buddhism, later Esoteric Buddhism I study, or especially my most precious European Folk faiths, have little to or nothing to do with modern India, its constant bickering, its internal hatred of itself, and of Europeans.
I respect Hindus for having maintained a branch of Indo-European faith and deep spirituality that we can learn from.
But I think that our European traditions have just as much to draw upon as those and when we analyze it as much or more in depth. At least to those of us with blood and heritage connections to Europe.
Even as a Buddhist, I see the dharma in my folk faith, and I draw heavily on it to inform my practice.
While Eurasia is forever connected past to future, current issue or bickering people find themselves over forms Hinduism or Buddhism, or political movement in India etc, have little precedents to the struggles we face in the West.
My studies of the East will always be for informing and growing the West.
My homelands, folk, and their destiny are what matters the most.
