📌 Key Compliance Points for Employers:
1️⃣ These wages are mandatory for all establishments, including contractors and service providers.
2️⃣ Minimum wages must be paid as basic wages –
❌ Splitting into allowances to reduce basic is not allowed.
3️⃣ Wages will be adjusted as per CPI (inflation) in future as per rules.
4️⃣ No employee can be paid below the prescribed minimum wages for their category.
5️⃣ Equal wages for men and women must be ensured.
6️⃣ In case of contract labour, the principal employer is responsible for ensuring payment of minimum wages.
7️⃣ Daily wage calculation: Monthly wages ÷ 26 days.
8️⃣ Trainees:
✔ Can be paid 75% of applicable wages
✔ But not less than unskilled minimum wages
✔ Training period should not exceed 1 year
9️⃣ Apprentices will be governed under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (separate provisions apply).
🔟 Separate notification will be issued for brick kiln workers.
⚠️ Important Note:
Employers cannot reduce existing wages if already higher than minimum wages.
