📖 Updated AJATT Grammar Guide 🇯🇵 New - Added Lesson 64, a detailed guide to giving and receiving with やる, あげる, もらう, and くれる. - Restored 22 optional intermissions and the hidden intermission. They now appear after the lessons they expand on. - Added supplementary lessons on why-questions, yes/no responses, まい, しょうがない, polarity, and formal conjunctions. Improvements - Added native Japanese examples with English translations throughout the supplementary material. - Expanded the honorific explanation and added a further-reading page. - Updated resource and video links. Fixes - Replaced unclear examples and translations in the supplementary lessons. - Clarified distinctions including 見たい versus みたい and the two uses of 切れる. 🧙 Updated AJT Japanese 🇯🇵 Requires Anki 26.09 or newer. Fixes - Keep かもしれない and かも知れない together as one atamadaka unit instead of attaching them to the preceding verb. - Avoid overwriting a filled field when generation only repeats the source text, and skip updates when the destination already contains the result. - Continue processing other notes and profiles when MeCab fails during bulk generation. Show the errors together afterward. - Clear previous audio search results when a new search starts. Clear previous pitch lookup results when a lookup fails. - Show "Nothing to show" for a pitch lookup with no matches instead of treating it like a MeCab error. - Continue searching Forvo after a MeCab failure when Forvo search is enabled. - Avoid installing the same note-type update handler more than once. Improvements - Find MeCab in Homebrew locations on macOS and avoid changing Anki's library environment when starting it. - Show clearer messages when MeCab cannot start, stops unexpectedly, or times out. - Show a more specific error for a Windows MeCab failure that may be caused by non-English characters in the Windows username. - Use consistent formatting for the pitch lookup, Pitch Artist, SVG settings preview, and welcome page. 🛫 Lancet v26.9.15.0 released A new action has been added that lets you add screenshots to Anki. Before, if you wanted to take a screenshot and add it to Anki, you had to use maimpick, which is a separate Bash script. This new feature lets you do everything in Lancet without depending on maimpick. Like other actions, you can bind the new Anki screenshot action to a hotkey. Here is an example for i3wm or Sway. 📹 Updated videoclip add-on for MPV. Before this update videoclip did not have an interface for calling ffmpeg, unlike mpvacious. I ported mpvacious's logic to videoclip, so now you can choose between the mpv backend and the ffmpeg backend. 💣 Updated ajatt.top I've spent the last six months porting our website from Bashblog to Tatsublog. One advantage of Tatsublog is that it isn't written in Bash, so we can implement features that weren't possible before. One example is the search page. Check it out: https://ajatt.top/blog/search.html#q=grammar You can now find content on the site much more easily. Another plus is that many features now work with JavaScript disabled. For example, the table-of-contents navigation (Previous and Next links on guide pages) is implemented in Jinja templates and doesn't require JavaScript. Sidebar links used to work only when JavaScript was enabled. They now work without it as well.
