The people of Kufa were too small minded and short sighted to understand how Imam Ali (a) would have created an unbelievably just and equitable system that would have created unfathomable beauty on the earth because it would have created a system in which human beings have all the tools necessary to achieve perfection in goodness (rather than perfection in evil). However, chants that cross a line of moral and religious boundaries, and create division within the people that only aids the enemy, such as chanting death to certain officials—is not the way to do it.
I was told that such chants were only chanted by a small group of people and they were quickly admonished by the other protesters. Anger is understandable, and calling for resignation is fine, but there is a line.
I myself am also opposed to the current deal if the details are correct. But criticisms should be made in a responsible and calm manner.
