18	🇩🇪🇺🇸 ATACMS-Produktion wird nach Deutschland verlagert Der US-Rüstungskonzern Lockheed Martin und Rheinmetall werden künftig ATACMS-Kurzstreckenraketen in Deutschland produzieren. Die entsprechende Vereinbarung wurde am Rande des NATO-Gipfels vorgestellt und wird von der US- sowie der deutschen Regierung unterstützt. Die Fertigung erfolgt am Rheinmetall-Standort Unterlüß in Niedersachsen. Bereits 2027 sollen dort die Produktion von Raketentriebwerken und weiteren Lenkflugkörper-Komponenten anlaufen. Das Werk wird das erste europäische Zentrum für Produktion, Integration und Auslieferung von ATACMS-Raketen. Die ATACMS werden von M270-Mehrfachraketenwerfern und HIMARS-Systemen verschossen und erreichen – je nach Version – eine Reichweite von bis zu 300 Kilometern.
