(b) ‘Are saying’ के स्थान पर ‘say’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: Proverbial facts, statements in books/newspapers, quotations आदि को report करने वाली क्रिया को Simple Present Tense में व्यक्त किया जाता है, क्योंकि इनमें निरंतर अस्तित्व (continued existence) और relevance होती है। जैसे— Virtue has its own reward. The Gita says that soul is immortal. 17. (b) ‘Said’ के स्थान पर ‘says’ का प्रयोग करें। 18. (c) ‘Who said’ के स्थान पर ‘who says’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: जब किसी महान व्यक्ति द्वारा कही गई बात (statement) को एक fact के रूप में स्वीकार कर लिया गया हो, तो उसे उद्धृत करने के लिए Reporting Verb हमेशा Simple Present Tense में प्रयुक्त होता है। 19. (b) ‘Do not make’ के स्थान पर ‘are not making’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: Nowadays और these days के साथ हमेशा Present Continuous Tense का प्रयोग किया जाता है। 20. (b) ‘I do these days’ के स्थान पर ‘I were doing those days’ का प्रयोग करें। 21. (b) ‘Gradually deteriorates’ के स्थान पर ‘is gradually deteriorating’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: Gradual change या process of change को व्यक्त करने के लिए Present Continuous Tense का प्रयोग होता है। जैसे— Our English is getting better and better. 22. (c) ‘Increases everyday’ के स्थान पर ‘is increasing everyday’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: Present Continuous Tense का प्रयोग वर्तमान में किसी चीज में हो रहे लगातार परिवर्तन, विकास, या ह्रास को बताने के लिए भी होता है। जैसे— His handwriting is improving. Your health is gradually deteriorating. 23. (c) ‘Are discussed’ के स्थान पर ‘are going to be discussed / are to be discussed’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: Be (is, am, are, was, were) + going to + infinitive या Be (is/am/are/was/were) + to + V1 का प्रयोग future में होने वाले कार्यों को व्यक्त करने के लिए किया जाता है। जैसे— I am going to work harder next term. It is going to rain. He is to leave shortly. 24. (b) ‘Are opened’ के स्थान पर ‘are opening’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: Present Continuous Tense का प्रयोग निकट भविष्य के निश्चित programme के लिए भी होता है। 25. (a) ‘Was knowing’ के स्थान पर ‘knew’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: ‘Know’ एक Stative Verb है और इसका प्रयोग Continuous Tense में नहीं होता। Stative verbs का इस्तेमाल continuous tense में नहीं किया जाता, लेकिन इनके साथ -ing inflection का प्रयोग हो सकता है। Examples: Seeing is believing. She has no understanding of the stative verbs. Important Stative Verbs (i) Verbs of perception – see, feel, taste, smell, hear (ii) Verbs of mental activities – think, know, mean, mind, suppose, remember, understand, believe, agree, admire, adore, hope, want, etc. (iii) Verbs showing possession – have, own, belong, contain, keep, consist, comprise, possess (iv) Verbs of appearing – look, appear, seem, sound, etc. (v) To be verbs – is, am, are, was, were (vi) Verbs showing emotional states – love, like, hate, detest, despise, dislike, etc. (vii) Miscellaneous – cost, exist, recognize, depend, doubt, resemble, require, affect, refuse, hope, etc.

Tense level 1 Explanation Answers With Explanations 1. (c) ‘Is always taking’ के स्थान पर ‘always takes’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: जिस काम को प्रतिदिन (daily), नियमित रूप से (regularly), आदतन (habitually) या सामान्यतः किया जाता है, उसे Simple Present Tense या Simple Past Tense में व्यक्त किया जाता है। ऐसे वाक्यों में प्रायः always, often, usually, never, generally, sometimes, occasionally, daily, everyday, normally, commonly, seldom, rarely, hardly, frequently आदि शब्द आते हैं। Example: He is going out for a walk every morning, therefore he is fit and fine. (Incorrect) He goes out for a walk every morning, therefore he is fit and fine. (Correct) 2. (a) ‘You are coming so late’ के स्थान पर ‘You come so late’ का प्रयोग करें। 3. (a) ‘I go to the office’ के स्थान पर ‘I am going to the office’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: यदि these days, nowadays, at the moment, at present का प्रयोग वाक्य में किया गया हो, तो क्रिया का प्रयोग हमेशा Present Continuous Tense में किया जाता है। 4. (a) ‘Goes out’ के स्थान पर ‘is going out’ का प्रयोग करेंगे। Morning walk पर जाने का काम डॉक्टर की सलाह पर किया जा रहा है। Rule: Always, constantly, everyday जैसे शब्द होने के बावजूद यदि कोई कार्य किसी कारण से हो रहा है, तो उसे Present Continuous Tense में व्यक्त किया जाता है। 5. (d) ‘Has a cold’ के स्थान पर ‘has had a cold’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule: वर्तमान में चल रहे किसी कार्य का कारण Present Perfect Tense में व्यक्त किया जाता है। Example: Honeypreet is being interrogated because she has committed perjury. 6. (c) ‘Did not give me’ के स्थान पर ‘have not given me’ का प्रयोग करें। Rule (Present Perfect Tense – Time Adverbs) Already, just, yet, so far, up to now, up to the present, lately, recently, of late जैसे adverbs of time के साथ Present Perfect Tense का प्रयोग किया जाता है। Examples: (i) The train has already left. (ii) The chief guest has not arrived yet. 7. (a) ‘You always come late’ के स्थान पर ‘You are always coming late’ का प्रयोग करें, क्योंकि वाक्य में irritation (चिढ़/नाराज़गी) का बोध हो रहा है। Rule: जब किसी के प्रति गुस्सा या irritation दिखाना हो, तो habitual action दिखाने वाले शब्द always के बावजूद क्रिया का प्रयोग Present Continuous Tense में किया जाता है। 8. (d) ‘When’ के बाद ‘will’ का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता, अतः will को हटा दें। Rule: यदि भविष्य की घटनाओं का जिक्र हो, तो when, if, unless, until, as soon as, as long as, in case, before, after से शुरू होने वाले clause में will/shall का प्रयोग नहीं होता। Example: (i) You will not succeed unless you work hard. (Correct) (ii) As soon as I will (a) / reach Patna, I will (b) / send you the books (c) / you have asked for. (d) / No Error (e) यहाँ Part (a) में will का प्रयोग नहीं होगा। 9. (b) ‘Unless’ के बाद ‘not’ का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता, अतः do not को हटा दें। 10. (c) ‘Go through’ के स्थान पर ‘have gone through’ का प्रयोग करें। यहाँ conditional clause में completion of action का भाव है। 11. (e) No error 12. (e) No error 13. (b) ‘As soon as’ के साथ ‘will’ का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता। Rule: भविष्य की दो घटनाओं के लिए when, if, unless, until, before, after, in case, as soon as, as long as से शुरू होने वाले subordinate clause में Simple Present Tense और main clause में Future Tense का प्रयोग होता है। 14. (d) ‘It is bringing out’ के स्थान पर ‘brings out’ का प्रयोग करें, क्योंकि यहाँ Simple Present Tense की आवश्यकता है।
