Bitcoin has lost 28% over the past month, and according to K33 analysts, more than 10 million BTC are now being held at a loss – over 50% of the circulating supply.
🗓 Just a month ago, only 30% of BTC was underwater. K33 Head of Research Vetle Lunde explains that a large share of older coins remains unmoved, either because the wallets have been lost or because their owners have no intention of selling. Historically, during previous bear markets, the share of unprofitable supply peaked in the 50–56% range.
Similar patterns were observed in 2011, 2018, and 2022. In those cycles, Bitcoin reached its bottom within about a month after the 50% threshold was crossed. However, this was typically preceded by one final drop of 15–26%. One year later, BTC had gained anywhere from 69% to 359%.
☝️The current decline has also brought Bitcoin back to its 200-week moving average – a level K33 considers a key marker for the end of major bear market cycles.
As a result, analysts reaffirm their core outlook: the area around $60,000 represents either the cycle bottom or a highly attractive long-term accumulation zone.
