K.D. Kempamma, infamously known as Cyan*de Mallika, holds the chilling title of being India's first convicted female serial ki!!er.
Between 1999 and 2007, she carried out a string of at least six m*rders across Karnataka, targeting vulnerable women in distress.
Her method was disturbingly calculated...
She would visit temples and seek out women who were emotionally troubled. Posing as a pious, helpful woman with knowledge of rituals, she would convince them that a special pooja (prayer) could solve their problems.
Once trust was built, she would take the victim to a secluded temple or lodge, and offer them food laced with cyan*de. She ensured the victim consumed it alone, and then would rob them of jewellery and cash after their sudden de@th.
Mallika was arrested in 2007, and her trial revealed how she manipulated faith, wore the mask of a spiritual well wisher, and left no visible trace of violence, making the de@ths appear natural.
In 2010, she was sentenced to de@th by a Bengaluru court, though her sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment.
Her story remains one of India's most disturbing examples of premeditated female crimina!ity where religious disguise met serial intent.

NITHARI SERIAL KILLINGS
A chilling tale of horror hidden in plain sight
Between 2005 and 2006, several children and young women mysteriously disappeared from Nithari village, Noida. Locals reported missing cases, but authorities largely ignored them until two families refused to stay silent.
The investigation took a horrifying turn when b0dy parts were discovered in the drain behind the house of businessman Moninder Singh Pandher and his domestic help Surender Koli.
As digging continued, over 80 b0ne fragments and remains of at least 16 victims were recovered.
The Crimes:
The victims were lured inside the house, m*rdered, and in some cases, subjected to cann*ba!istic acts (as confessed by Koli). The ki!!ings appeared to follow a disturbing pattern, mostly targeting migrant children and girls from poor backgrounds many of whom were never identified.
⚖️ Justice & Controversy:
Koli was sentenced to de@th in multiple cases. Pandher was also convicted in some, though he was acquitted in others, sparking public outrage and legal debates.
The case exposed deep flaws in police investigation and socioeconomic bias in handling missing persons reports.

🧠THE MIDNIGHT FILES
CASE 1
🔍 Case: The Burari De@ths (2018)
Location: Burari, Delhi
Victims: 11 members of the Bhatia family
🗓 What happened?
On July 1st, 2018, 10 members of the Bhatia family were found hanging in a circular formation from an iron grill in their home, blindfolded and g@gged. The eldest family member, Narayan Devi, was found strang!ed in another room.
No signs of forced entry. No property stolen.
Just chilling diaries, spiritual notes, and a setup that looked eerily ritualistic.
🧾 The Diaries
Investigators discovered 11 years' worth of handwritten diaries....all in Lalit Bhatia’s handwriting, Detailing instructions believed to be from the spirit of his deceased father.
These weren't random scribbles.
They included daily behavioral rules, religious rituals, and specific instructions for the final act ....including time, position, and arrangement of the b0dies.
🧠 Psychological Insight:
Lalit, who had lost his voice temporarily after a traumatic event, later claimed that his father’s soul had begun communicating with him. He believed he was being guided and he took on the role of channeling these messages for the family’s "spiritual upliftment."
Psychologists refer to this as a possible case of shared psychosis, where a delusional belief system spreads within a closely knit group. The family trusted Lalit completely and followed the instructions without resistance.
🔚 The “Salvation Ritual”
The final act was believed to be a trial ...a test of faith. The diaries noted that "God will save them" and that they would be “reborn.” It wasn’t suic*de in the conventional sense... the family truly believed they would survive.
But they didn’t.
📌 Final Notes
No one else was found responsible.
The case was officially closed as a mass suic*de driven by shared delusion.
Yet, many still wonder... how could 11 people follow one man's voice so blindly?
Was it faith? Madness? Or something in between?
