*Hackathon to Combat Misinformation and Disinformation: Empowering India’s Youth* As part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Prime Point Foundation and the Department of Media Sciences, Anna University we are hosting a Hackathon for students from across the country to participate in a unique challenge. This hackathon aims to address one of the most critical issues facing our society today: misinformation and disinformation. What is the Hackathon About? Theme: Information technology for public good, enabling an ecosystem for identification of multimedia disinformation. Eligibility: Students can participate in groups of 3-5, with permission from their universities. Timeline: Entries are open from June 10 to July 30, 2024. The Voices news portal, managed by the students of PGDIDM and MAJDM, was relaunched on January 20th, 2024. This portal's main characteristic is that diversity - students from diverse locations cover various issues that are captured as part of the training package.
