You know what I think about often…
We went from over $18 trillion in negative-yielding debt in 2020 to governments issuing record amounts of debt at some of the highest borrowing costs in years.
One extreme gave way to another.
There is nothing about today’s monetary system that feels normal.
Perhaps the future isn’t another monetary experiment.
Perhaps it’s a bond backed by gold.
The world is starving for something dependable.
That has always started with gold.

BRICS has reportedly prepared a draft framework for a gold-backed settlement token designed for cross-border transactions between central banks.
The proposed structure would be backed 40% by gold and 60% by the currencies of the bloc's core members.
This would not be a common currency.
