UPSC Aspirant 2025-26

Why did I fail ? Why is it always me ? What is going on in my life ? Am I not good enough ? What should I do ? So many random thoughts passed whenever I faced the setbacks in my grueling upsc journey. I know it is hard to accept . There is a feeling of numbness, and we want to close doors , and want to cry out loud. The problem is everyone in our life has taught us how to handle success but never told us how to accept a failure or setback. So this is a post dedicated to all those who are going through similar emotions after mains results I will not delve at this point into the philosophical perspective of success or failure maybe at some other time we can .But today I will focus on the practical aspect of how to deal with this situation . Right now is the time to be not harsh on yourself and blame oneself for all the miseries that you are going through. Firstly, be kind to yourself. Success is the sum of so many factors and not just hard work and dedication. Secondly, just observe the emotions you are going through and embrace them, if you want to cry out loud do that, if you want to be alone or go somewhere you can but just don't have any negative thoughts about doing something untoward to your life as human life is a precious gift ( 84 lakh yoni k baad milta h manushya Janam as per scriptures )and much more than a mere unpredictable exam. Thirdly, don't take any decision in haste and let your emotions settle down first. Then see whether you want to continue the preparation journey or would like to get an alternate job and make an exit from upsc chakravyuh or get a job and continue preparing.See the opportunity cost, financial condition and social costs of life and make an informed decision in 1-2 weeks. Fourthly, if you decide to leave welcome to the real world out of books and give your best in whatever endeavours you pursue. Your time and energy invested here will never go to waste and it would have added in your personality some intangible assets like analytical perspectives and perseverance, hardwork etc. But if you wish to continue, then sit and analyse what went wrong by seeing the papers, looking at weak areas maybe some syllabus portion, lack of answer writing or content updation or notes making etc for example and work on those areas of improvement. At last this exam is unpredictable and involves a lot of subjectivity even if you have put in all the hard work and energy. But then as Dhoni says control the controllable so see if you have given your 💯% or not to the process. If there is scope then do it and even after that if it is not happening then maybe some other great things in life are waiting for you as planned by the almighty.. In the end , be happy because picture abhi baaki h mere dost..😊😇. Jai Hind Jai Shri Mahakal🙏😇
