- Never make irreversible decisions based on reversible emotions.
- Even if we can’t control our emotions, we can control the attention we give to our emotions.
- Detachment is foundational for emotional intelligence.
- Let emotion inform but not form your decision.
- Take emotions into account but don't let them be the only thing in the account.
- The world determines our situations, but we determine our emotions.
