Jason Arday is probably not an isolated case.
Arday's rise to academic stardom was a product of attitudes and incentives promoting racial diversity at the expense of competence that are universal in Western academia.
Those same ideas and incentives have have governed the academic careers of every other non-white, female, and LGBT academic.
Therefore, we should expect to find similar patterns of academic fraud.
Academia is in a panic about Jason Arday because this is just the beginning.
