January 26 Com. KV Sudheesh Martyrdom Day. KV Sudheesh was a member of the Central Executive Committee of SFI - Students' Federation of India and Joint Secretary of SFI Kerala state committee. He was also a member of Kannur district council. A brave fighter, great organiser and an amazing speaker who grew up at an area called 'Thokkilangadi', near Kuthuparamba, a strong hold of RSS. Sudheesh, not being concerned about the threats of the killers gang at his surroundings, continued his resistance against Hindutva communal forces in all possible ways and emerged as a most vibrant leader of student movement in the state. Throttle down such a Comrade was a necessity for the saffron brigade. On the republic day of 1994, Kannur woke up listening the shocking news of the murder of their beloved student leader, KV Sudheesh. Nationwide Protest Call on 25th January condemning the fascist attack on the students of FTII, Pune. The SFI Central Executive Committee (CEC) condemns the cowardly attack by the members of the Hindu Jan Jagran Sanstha on the students of FTII Pune. On 23rd January, a group of armed men entered the campus of FTII, Pune targeted and attacked the students. They also burnt down a banner by the FTIISA which was regarding the communal politics of the RSS and Babri Masjid demolition. Despite continuous threats from the right wing Hindutva groups from 21st onwards, the students of FTII went ahead with the documentary screening of Anand Patwardhan's 'Raam Ke Naam'. The students bravely talked about the fascist onslaught their attack on constitutional ideas and our responsibility to remember the contribution of our martyrs.
