Chemical Thermodynamics for Process Simulation, 2nd Edition.pdf16.69 MB
This example was a little bit challenging. I hope you got the sizing concept. In case of any questions or if you need more examples, let me know.
Move to "Reports" tab to view and print/save reports. Four different reports are available. (Documentation Builder does not work on my laptop due to some reasons)
The equivalent length in all previous calculations was 5 m for both inlet and outlet pipes. Select "Calculate Equivalent Length". Equivalent Length Calculation tables show up and you can enter the exact specificaion of the pipes and specify number of fittings. HYSYS will calculate the right equivalent length based on the data you enter. L/D's are changable, if you believe default numbers are not accurate.
Result for valve A. Please note that the outlet pipe size dropped to 24". So, if we install the 3rd PSV, the bottom line will be smaller PSV plus smaller outlet pipe size. You see how software helps us add more PSV and size the lines quickly.
