Poetic Saturdays in collaboration with Inqu Digital Marketing and Events is organizing the second edition of African Cup of Slam Poetry at Alliance Ethio-Francaise on 19 February 2022. The event will feature eight (8) finalists from eight different countries showcasing their poetry performances. Doors will open at 4:00pm, and the entrance is free of charge. ስጠኝ ትራጀዲ [ፀሎት ለትራጀዲው ጌታ] -------------------------------- አምላክ ሆይ ፀሎት ነው ስማ ከልጅህ ዘንድ ብርቱ ልመና ስጠኝ ትራጀዲ ስጠኝ ማጣት መቸገር መች ትቶኝ ሄዶስ ቀድሞ ነገር እንዲሁ ነው ነገሩን የፍራቻ የሥጋቴን ስጠኝ ትራጀዲ ለጥበብ ግብአት ይሁነኝ ''ደክሞኛል መኖር ላለመሞት በህይወት ከርሞ ለመቆየት ፈቅ እማይል ከ ፈቀቅታ ሠርክ ሮሮ ሁሌ ዋይታ" እያልኩ:- ፈፅሞ አላማርርህም ይሁነኝ ትራጀዲ ለጥበብ ስንቅ ኑሮ'ንዲህ ነው ለገጣሚ የሚናፈቅ በምቾት ውስጥ የታል ጥበብ የታል ግጥም? ሁሉ ነገር አንድ ቀለም ለትየባ ምን ሊጠቅም? ምን ረብ አለ እማግኘት ውስጥ? ከሀብት ወዲያ ወደየት ለውጥ? ሁሉ ቆመ ጥበብ የታል ከሉክ ደረት ምን ይውላል የደላው ግን ግጥም ያውቃል? ለሙት መታሠቢያ ሚፃፍግጥም ጥበብ ሊባል ይቻለዋል? ኤድያ ቲሽ ማግኘት ቢላሽ ግን እንጃልኝ ፤ ግን እንጃልን ሀሳብ ያልቃል የደላኝ ቀን አምላኬ ሆይ አደራህን ጣለው ከህይወቴ አሽቀንጥረህ ወዲያ በልልኝ ምቾት ብሎ ነገር ችግሬ አርምሞን ያምጣ አስቦ በማስፈር ልመር ልግጠም የት-አባቱ ይህ ነው የኔ ጊዜ ፅፌ ሳረቅ የለፋሁት አድማጭ ሳገኝ የደም-ወዜ ችግር ማጣት ምን ቢጠላ ለገጣሚ መልኩ ሌላ አቆይልኝ ድህነቴን ልግጠምበት ደስ ይለኛል ድሎት ክፉ ከመክሊቴ ያርቀኛል ምቾት ክፉ ይነጥቀኛል አቦ [ልግጠም] ይሻለኛል︎! ። © ዘር:ታዬ

with thoughts of his and hers, they all think, they all dread, who to glory and who will lose their head. Their Eyes slow in blinking, single sweat from their faces and their Shields connecting, With the song of my steel, helms are worn and hoorah is roared. HOORAH!! HOORAH!! Men once still now hastily moving . Take all and show no mercy, for king and country, cleave and burry. Here, here, for king and country show no fear, make way my entry, go and make all mine. SEIGE Down on one knee I grab the earth below The Land of the free Me, the invader, Shining in armor Steel mesh and Helm under my arm Sword on my hip For i came to do harm. My eyes in the sun light I hear the noise behind Of men ready for a fight. a touch on my shoulder I Turned my eyes To a field in smolder. Loud sound to my left My captain of wars Right wing man I kept. "It is time my king" Time to plunder and kill death and fire to bring. "Aye" I replied With A look of bravery From my soul I lied. I reach for my helm Red feathers and steel From the devil's realm. I turn to my men... Lined up and waiting "Do it" I said To my captain nodding. A roar he let out Sounds quickly followed From the lions snout. The men now heed I mount my friend My steed of stampede. I draw my father's razor Sharp as pythons fangs Old, man flesh grazer. Go home the coward Leave my place of war anywhere but forward for my war drums are now blowing. the loud thunderous roar of my nations blood flowing.
