Morris Anthony Davis was wanted for a 2013 murder, but the guy is clearly laying on the ground after being tased, not posing an immediate threat to the officer. If the media is gonna run with this (which they aren't obviously) we're gonna get George Floyd part 2. So far I've seen it on only a few channels.
Clay County, FL deputies encountered Davis during a child welfare check. While attempting to confirm his identity, he reportedly tried to flee armed with two knives and was tased.
In the video below he can be heard saying “I give my life to the Lord” “Please kill me, I’d rather die than go back to jail.”
He was shot and killed by a deputy whilst laying on the ground holding the knives.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating the use of force here.
As of this post I don't believe the bodycam footage has been released.
