| 3 | Ethereum surges after White House Summit
Shortly before the crypto summit held on August 19, an anonymous wallet purchased 5,000 ETH (approx. $9.53 million USD) and immediately staked them via the Beacon Deposit Contract. This was reported by Lookonchain.
This same wallet (with prefix 0x8447) now holds over $20 million in ETH (10,657 ETH). It is assumed that the funds may have been withdrawn from the Kraken exchange.
The summit was attended by prominent figures, including Donald Trump, representatives from the SEC and CFTC, as well as executives from leading crypto companies such as Coinbase, Ripple, Chainlink, a16z, Kalshi, Paradigm, Nasdaq, and CME.
Shortly after the event, the price of ETH rose by nearly 16%. One trader who opened a 4x position on ETH on Hyperliquid at $1,936 gained unrealized profits exceeding $6 million.
Bitcoin: "Golden Cross" and Growth
Bitcoin confidently surpassed the $72,000 mark on Thursday, forming the long-awaited bullish "Golden Cross" pattern on the chart: the 50-day simple moving average crossed above the 200-day average for the first time since April 2025.
This is also the first time since November 2025 that the cryptocurrency has traded above its 200-day moving average. Recall that during that period, Bitcoin was near its all-time high of over $126,000.
The history of previous "Golden Crosses" fuels investor optimism: similar crossovers occurred in February 2023, October 2023, October 2024, and April 2025—and each time they were followed by price growth.
Europe and Gas: Prices Soar
Europe has hit a five-month peak in gas prices as TTF futures rose 3.9% and exceeded €65/MWh. The reasons for this sharp increase include geopolitical risks, such as the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and LNG supply issues, as well as uncertainty caused by Trump's statements about an "economic D-Day," which undermined expectations for shipping recovery.
Against this backdrop, underground gas storage (UGS) levels in the EU remain alarmingly low—62% versus 74% a year ago. The situation in Germany is even more critical, with levels just above 50%. Rising gas prices are putting pressure on industry and utilities, intensifying the struggle for limited fuel volumes.

The dollar is under pressure: Bank of America believes the US currency will continue to weaken. Both technical charts and options market activity point to this.
The main reason is that investors do not expect a Fed rate hike in September, removing support for the dollar. Experts name the New Zealand dollar as a favorite: NZD/USD is rising confidently and looks set to continue upward.
Yen stuck at multi‑year lows
The yen is trapped: even a 30‑year high in Japanese bond yields isn’t helping it strengthen.
USD/JPY is stalled around 159, showing a market paradox: investors expect decisive action from the Bank of Japan, but weak macro data drags the currency down. Japan’s GDP grew only 1.1%, well below expectations.
Authorities’ intervention attempts in August produced only a short‑lived effect, and the dollar quickly regained losses.
Whales buying Bitcoin — +$2.9bn in 60 days
Bitcoin topped $64,000 amid purchases by large holders. Over the past 60 days whales (wallets with 10,000+ BTC) increased positions by nearly $2.9 billion.
CryptoQuant says these players added around 43,000 BTC since mid‑June (exchanges and miners excluded). Crypto Briefing notes 46,420 BTC flowed into the largest wallets — among the most aggressive buys since mid‑March.
Tuesday morning trades were near $64,495. The next key level to watch for further gains is $65,500.
Visa, Mastercard and others prepare rules for AI agents’ payments
Visa, Mastercard, Solana and 20+ other companies formed the APA to work on future payments. Soon AI agents will be able to process transactions under unified standards.

The euro approached $1.15 after strong eurozone economic data. Eurozone GDP in Q2 rose 0.4% q/q, EU — 0.5%. Yearly growth — 1.0% and 1.2% respectively.

Gold jumped sharply after an unexpectedly weak US jobs report for July. Prices hit multi‑week highs.
On August 7 the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported nonfarm payrolls fell by 23,000 in July; economists had expected a 80,000 gain.
Gold gained more than 7% for the week — the best weekly performance since January. Technically, the metal is aiming for $4,500 resistance ahead of an important inflation report.
Oil: firmer because of Ormuz
Oil is rising amid a major drop in shipping through Ormuz and the failure of talks between Iran and Oman, pushing Brent toward $90/bbl.
On Friday 15 cargo ships transited the strait, Saturday – 11, Sunday – 6, Monday – 7. That’s well below the recent 10‑day average of about 12 and tiny compared with roughly 98 cargo ships daily before the Middle East conflict.
Talks between Iran and Oman did not resolve the issue. Tehran demands sanctions relief, security guarantees and compensation.
The market reacted fast. Brent futures rose $4.17, or 4.99%, to $87.72 on Monday — the largest one‑day percentage jump since July 29. On Tuesday Brent climbed to $90/bbl as supply‑risk fears intensified.
Intel: $15B for AI
Intel will float shares for $15 billion (with an underwriter option of +$2.25 billion — up to $17.25 billion). The company announced a public underwritten offering of common stock — its largest equity raise in years.
Proceeds will fund capex and working capital to build AI infrastructure — physical AI, specialized solutions and packaging tech.
Nvidia: open Nemotron 4 family
Nvidia is developing a new family of open AI models called Nemotron 4. The largest version is reported to contain at least 1 trillion parameters.
Training is ongoing; the release is tentatively planned for late autumn.
The company positions open models as a tool for safety, innovation and accessibility; given rising costs and competition from Chinese models, this is a logical move.

| 13 | XRP near another low: RLUSD stablecoin news hasn’t helped
Despite the launch of RLUSD in Japan, XRP keeps falling.
RLUSD was launched by Ripple and SBI after JFSA approval (start June 24). The token was classified as “Type 4” for foreign stablecoins and will be distributed via SBI VC Trade for institutions and retail.
Storage and transaction limits — ¥1 mln (~$6,180). Since launch RLUSD’s market cap has risen to ≈ $1.7 bn. Ripple positions the token as a bridge from Japanese business to global liquidity, but there’s no direct positive impact on XRP yet.
Oil up at the start of the week — Hormuz back in focus
