#part1 IELTS speaking part 1 — Gifts. Real exam questions, sample answers, and a quick tip under each. @sanokulovs_speaking

I just connected ClaudeAI to the channel as an admin, so there might be a couple of 'probe' posts:)

🎙 Top 3 tips for IELTS Speaking Part 3 Part 3 isn't about sounding smart — it's about discussing ideas the way a fluent speaker naturally would. Here's what actually moves the needle: 1️⃣ Take a side, don't sit on the fence Examiners aren't grading your opinion. They're grading how clearly you defend it. ❌ "It depends, some people think this, others think that..." ✅ "I'd say the drawbacks outweigh the benefits, mainly because..." A fence-sitting answer has nowhere to go. Commit, then explain. 2️⃣ Zoom out from personal to societal Part 1 is about you. Part 3 is about the world. If your answer to "Do people read less now?" is just "I don't read much," you're still stuck in Part 1 mode. ❌ "I personally don't read books." ✅ "I'd say reading habits have shifted rather than declined — people read constantly, just on screens instead of paper." Talk about trends and generations, not just your own habits. 3️⃣ Use one sharp example, not a vague claim "For example..." is one of the most underused phrases in Part 3. A concrete example instantly makes an answer sound more fluent and considered. ❌ "Technology has changed how we communicate a lot." ✅ "Take video calls, for example — my grandparents now message family abroad daily, something that would've been unthinkable 20 years ago." One sharp example beats three vague sentences. Try weaving all three into your next practice run — spin a random Part 3 topic and record yourself using them: https://ieltswithsanokulov.com/speaking-spin/ What's the hardest part of Part 3 for you? 👇

One thing you should always keep in mind is the human factor in the IELTS speaking test. I always tell my students to be interesting in the exam. Being an IELTS examiner isn't an exciting job, honestly. Imagine hearing the same boring-as* answer every single time from hundreds of candidates. If you make your examiner's a little better by being fun and interesting, you'll definitely get a higher score. One way to do that is to talk about things that people wouldn't usually talk about. @sanokulovs_speaking
