Genetic Admixture of Uzbeks from Kongirat Tribe | (3 Samples) Y-DNAs: Köýtendag Kongirat: R1a-YP417 Bukhara Kongirat: D1a-F3956 The Kongirat (Khongirad) tribe is one of the Uzbek tribal groups. In the late 15th and early 16th centuries, under Muhammad Shaybani Khan (1451-1510), the Shaybanid Uzbeks moved from the Dasht-i Kipchak (the Golden Horde steppe) into Transoxiana, overthrowing the Timurid rulers and forcing Babur to flee to India, where he later founded the Mughal Empire. Early Uzbeks formed through a mixture of several Turkic-Mongol nomadic groups from the Golden Horde, including the Kipchak, Kangli, Qongirat, Manghit, and others. These three samples may provide a limited view of the genetic admixture of the early Uzbeks.
