one of my hot takes would be that the dissolution of most friendships is rarely the result of a single person's failings. more often than not it emerges from mutual shortcomings on both sides. what's ridiculous is how people tend to reconstruct these relationships in morally absolute terms. the other person becomes toxic, fake, villain, saanp while one's own contributions to the breakdown are not mentioned in the narrative. you might want to portray yourself as holier than thou kind of a person but deep down you know you were, if not equally, somewhat responsible for the fallout so drop the act. there is a certain genre of people who will keep on singing tales of how they were wronged at every step and will point fingerd at everyone but themselves and this genre is one of the most toxic things to exist in my opinion.

women are being face doxxed and these bajrang dal ke dalle are openly threatening to rape them?

bc they are filing cases on students cuz they "abused" प्रधानमंत्री जी ????

the toxicity of the romance is one thing but what bothered me just as much or more was the way the show defines what a "good" woman is. i felt so bad for lavanya. why did she have to change herself to become acceptable? why did her clothes, her personality, and the way she carried herself all have to be toned down before the family could finally accept her? what was the need for that khushi is constantly romanticized by the family because she perfectly fits the show's idea of a sanskari girl which is someone who knows all the ghar ke kaam, puts family above everything else, is endlessly self sacrificing, dresses modestly, does pooja paath. lavanya just didn't fit that mold. rather than the family learning to accept someone different from them she is the one who has to change herself to earn their approval. these serials reinforce a very narrow idea of femininity and womanhood. honestly bhai lavanya deserved sm better.

i skipped college today cuz bohot zyada sick and i prolly won't go tomorrow either and then weekend so long chutti. since i had nothing else to do i started binge watching this serial called iss pyar ko kya naam doo and mind you i was obsessed with a couple of years back. back then i genuinely thought it was the peak of romance. i mean it felt like something straight out of wattpad and we used to get butterflies watching them. but bc watching it now is a completely different experience cuz it's so toxic. nothing about it is romantic bhai. this guy arnav is SO TOXIC. kabhi bhi he will grab her and do literally the most heinous things and seconds later he'll be like aw i shouldn’t have done that blahblahblah. and even khushi bhai???? kya kar rhi h ye? why is she after this guy even after everything he's done? i mean i know barun sobti's hot but c'mon. the funniest part is that i still had a great time watching it. kinda hate watched it and i love that. half the time toh i was like bc kyu kar rha h ye sab but anyways.
